1UP

Even if 90 percent of the monsters you use said spells against are giant snails, battles are much more interesting than just tapping away at the X button over and over.

Play Magazine

Though some may be turned off by just how much of a dungeon crawler the PSP version of Dungeon Explorer ended up being, those willing to hike up their boots and wade into the game's darks depths will be well rewarded. [Mar 2008, p.66]

RPG Fan

If you enjoy grinding to unlock classes, and the experience of playing as different classes is more important to you than random loot drops, you could very well have a lot of fun with this game.

Extreme Gamer

Warriors of Ancient Arts has an interesting concept, and in small doses it’s a fun game. Nothing impressive at all with graphics and sound, but game play wise it’s a good game.

Games Radar (in-house)

It’s nothing revolutionary or even particularly interesting or compelling, but it’s not broken either. Those bored and desperate for an RPG fix can give this title a shot.

Official Playstation 2 Magazine UK

A repetitive RPG-by-numbers. Only grind veterans will find a vague sense of enjoyment. [July 2008, p.91]

Playstation: The Official Magazine (US)

Overall, this Dungeon Explorer experience is pleasurable enough for those with a fierce RPG itch, but those who require a compelling story in their RPGs may want to pass. [Mar 2008, p.88]

GamePro

Graphics are decent, but the sound is obnoxious.

Cheat Code Central

Think of an offline version of Phantasy Star Online, but with poorer visuals, limited move-sets, uninteresting music, and repetitive gameplay that offers no real rewards. You'd then have the latest Dungeon Explorer.
