Worth Playing
At most, I can say, "These ROMS work; they won't crash your PSP." That alone is enough to tell you whether or not it's worth your time and money to pick this up.

Each of the games runs smoothly, features crisp controls and should satisfy anyone who has been aching to play Lunar Rescue on the bus. However, the fudged features and in-room only multiplayer are big issues considering that there's a handful of compilations out there letting folks play each other online at will.

Boomtown
It’s a quick loading short burst gamers paradise that suits handheld play very well, although it’s hard to recommend to anyone who already owns the collection on any other platform.

If you can overlook Taito's rather calculated and wholly predictable decision to pack out this collection with filler material, then there's a decent amount of quality retro gems to get your teeth into when you've got a few minutes to fill. Sadly though, most of Taito's real big hitters that would have made this an instant must-have aren't here.

Gaming Nexus
While it misses some of the company's best games (Bubble Bobble, Darius Gaiden), Taito Power-Up contains more than enough great arcade ports to warrant a purchase.

Power Up includes some cool options, like the ability to change the size of the display, either leaving it at its original aspect ratio or stretching it out to fit the entire screen.

Entertaining, sure, but by no means legendary. [Issue 145, p.87]

There are certainly worse retro compilations on the shelves, but with the original two Taito Legends compilations setting the benchmark, Taito Legends: Power Up pales in comparison to its older siblings.

In the context of a budget-priced collection of retro classics, Taito Legends Power-Up is not too bad, but it’s still a pretty niche title made more so by the absence of some outright classics.

Even those overhauled versions can't make up for the fact that Taito has left out "Bubble Bobble." Oh dear. [Christmas 2006, p.87]

Taito Legends Powered-Up is an average collection with only a couple of gems, though they aren't really enough to make this game recommendable.

Aside from these few minor niggles, Taito Legends: Power Up is a perfectly acceptable package of arcade classics. At the same time, this is all that Taito Legends is and unless you really do feel the need to play Space Invaders all over again, there’s little point investing in what is simply another incarnation of the retro cash cow.

No matter how good the memories, almost all of these games are now rubbish. [Nov 2006, p.87]

(Some legendary names + modern updates) divided by (a lot of filler) x (a questionable conversion) = a medicore old skool outing.

Though Qix on the move is indeed a glorious thing, the sheer amount of total dross here makes this one collection that should be avoided by all but the most desperate of retro handheld fanatics.
