'Is it as good as ISS?' We should say that no, it is not. On the other hand it is certainly a lot better than the majority of other footy fests that have tried to take on the big two.

Top of the list has to be the excellent training mode...But for now, ignore this and stick with FIFA or Pro Evolution Soccer - they're much, much better.

PSX Nation

Besides gameplay modes (which are plentiful), the title comes up short in just about every category that EA’s “FIFA” 32-bit titles have been polishing for years now.

Games Radar UK (Pre-2006)

Playable without being enjoyable, go and dig out one of the better FIFAs or unearth any ISS, because David Beckham Soccer doesn't live up to its namesake.

Tom W gave it a 9:
Great quick gameplay, huge array of teams and different competitions. Easy controls. The only thing that could have improved is the graphics.

Unknown pro gaming soccer player gave it an 8:
The gameplay is better than fifa 2001 because its harder to score and not so one sided when gamers play against the computer. But this game does not have all the 2002 world cup teams.

Bob D. gave it a 9:
I'm 37 and I play against my 8 yr old son all the time. It's a great game!

Robert H. gave it a 10:
This game is cool. Anybody who says its horrible is on drugs.

Fernando C. gave it a 7:
I think this is a really good game but the problem is that it doesn't look real I think Fifa 97,98,99,2000,2001,2002,2003 are better that this game.

Chris F. gave it a 10:
Very Good for a 'mess about', good game.

Soccer Player gave it a 4:
The controls suck. There is not all the teams from the 2002 world cup.
