In the classic story And Then There Were None, 10 people, each with something to hide and something to fear, are invited to a lonely mansion on Shipwreck Island by a host who, surprisingly, fails to appear. On the island, they are cut off from everything but each other and the inescapable shadows of their own past lives. One by one, the guests share the darkest secrets of their wicked pasts. And one by one, they die... Agatha Christie fans, and newcomers to the genre, can look forward to a series of unexpected turns; although the storyline stays true to the original concept, players will encounter new plot twists. The first comes in the form of an 11th character, the player, a boatman who brings the others to the island and then is trapped there himself. To save the lives of the intended victims, the player must unravel the motives behind the murders and uncover the identity of the killer. If successful, he will spare not only the lives of the remaining guests, but also his own. Using the Wiimote controller, gameplay in this traditional PC adventure game can be taken to a new level of interactivity. For instance, players will have the freedom to control their character's actions, such as using a digging motion to unearth clues, or spinning the handle of a safe using the Wiimote; and the introduction of timed puzzles where, for example, players must race up a set of stairs from a boat docked below. Whilst "Zack & Wiki" is the Wii's first true puzzle-based point-and-click game, Agatha Christie: And Then There Were None proves to be the system's first proper out-and-out PC-style adventure, complete with a classic gripping tale filled full of intrigue and mystery.

It's intriguing throughout. [Issue#20, p.86]

Agatha Christie: And Then There Were None is a smart adventure game with solid puzzles and a top-notch mystery, but its dated visuals and slow pace will have limited appeal for players who are used to more modern fare.

Cheat Code Central
Overall, it's a very lengthy adventure full of plot twists and mystery which should be more than enough to draw-in fans of the work. The simple controls also make it easy to jump into the game which works well for the casual gaming audiences. The problem is almost anyone who's now accustomed to current-gen console titles will find And Then There Were None to be painfully dated.

Playing And Then There Were None, you get a feeling that there's an opportunity for someone to do the whole classic detective thing properly - we're talking about playing as Hercule Poirot in a point and click style game based on one of the classic books. With good graphics too. Get it done.

Even for a point-and-click adventure game, I found Agatha Christie: And Then There Were None to be long on wind and short on intrigue.

Worth Playing
Flawed level design, hasty production values, glitchy gameplay, and an overall lack of effort drag down this game beyond the point where it's worth your time.

The gameplay is clunky and underwhelming at best, but the story is so good that it boosts And Then There Were None out of the pits.

Nintendo has given its gamers a game to keep them healthy with Wii Fit. Unintentionally, And Then There Were None has given them the perfect sleep-inducing game to follow a rigorous Wii Fit session.

IGN
Both the presentation and the gameplay mechanics are dated by today's standards, and yet if you grew up with games of this type, you may find yourself more forgiving of the title's shortcomings than new-generation players will be.

Game Almighty
Visuals remain unchanged from the original PC debut, and while they didn’t look the best back then, they look absolutely archaic now. Character models are poorly animated, and lip-synching is a bit jarring in how off it can be.

Sleuthing is largely irrelevant as the characters keel over whatever you do. [Mar 2008, p.75]

AceGamez
A lazy port of a rather under-whelming PC release. The Wii has been criticized, and rightly so, for porting over far too many sub-standard games with poorly implemented use of the Wiimote tacked on to justify their release - And Then There Were None will do nothing but strengthen that argument tenfold.

Even at $29.99, Agatha Christine: And Then There Were None has far too many visual and gameplay issues to warrant a purchase. Buy the book instead.

I'd like to encourage The Adventure Company to bring more point-and-clicks to Wii, but please, please make them better than this.

But as a Wii title in 2008, a few added control gimmicks can't save this from the bargain bin of the slowing trend PS2 and PC ports that just shouldn't be.

I’m not sure if AWE Games understands the point of adventure games. Players want to go somewhere, live through danger, and feel a sense of accomplishment for overcoming the obstacles. Agatha Christie: And Then There Were None has none of that. Most of the time, you’re just waiting for someone else to die.

Agatha Christie would turn over in her grave if she knew what kind of horrible game they made out of her wonderful book.

Steve W. gave it a7:
Its an adventure game by The Adventure Company and if you know what that means you know what you'll get. Visually its quite good. About 2 1/2 hours into it and the story is compelling. It does seem easy so far, but I am enjoying watching the story unfold. If you have never read the book, and enjoy adventure games on the PC, this one is a no-brainer.

Jonas S. gave it an8:
This is a great old style adventure game. It does look quite good although not exceptionally. The atmosphere of the game is really well established as you try to find out the killer. The Wiimote works well with the game, just as the mouse did on PC. In addition to that, there are some pretty nice wiimote´specific actions. The voice acting is good with nice english accent and the music is outstanding. I do really recommend this game to every adventure game fan out there. You shouldn't think this as an action game or anything, just plain adventure. This game really shows that the Wii is the perfect platform for adventure games.
