Summary
Bakugan is based on the story of Dan and his friends whose lives were forever changed when mysterious cards fell from the sky. Creating a game from the cards where powerful creatures known as Bakugan battle, it wasn’t long before they discovered that their hobby was much more than just a simple pastime. Utilizing special game cards Bakugan battle masters roll spheres onto the cards, which activate and transform into Bakugan “battle brawling” action figures. [Activision]

Bakugan Battle Brawlers proves that you can make an engaging licensed game with a great presentation and solid gameplay.

This game offers card collecting, platforming, and mini-games, and it's more than just a cash-in on a popular license.

This is definitely more geared toward the kids and core fan base than someone like me, so if you're not already a fan, you can safely skip this title without missing anything.

Bakugan Battle Brawlers is ultimately a silly game based on a silly premise, but the end product's decent enough to satisfy plenty of kids who think the show and cards are the greatest thing since the last monster-collecting/card-battling anime fad.

There is just not enough actual game here to satisfy anyone outside the Bakugan fanbase. If you are however a huge fan of the show and have been dying to get your hands on the digital interpretation then by all means do not hesitate. There is enough here to keep you interested, and interacting with the characters and engaging in battles will be more than worth it for you.

If you are a fan of Bakugan or want a nice nonviolent game for your child this should do the trick. Definitely skip this if you are looking to frag noobs with headshots.

Bakugan: Battle Brawlers seems to do things mostly right on paper, though the actual gameplay offers too much build-up to each fight and not enough in the actual battle department.

Purchase Bakugan Battle Brawlers only if you are a fan of the show. It is obvious that this game is made for younger gamers that don't mind repetition in their games. If you are looking for a little variety in a game that includes a deep storyline and interesting battles, you will need to look elsewhere.

In spite of the flaws, it’s clear that a lot of work went into Battle Brawlers. The show’s cast does the voice acting, and every card available in the real world is in the game. It’s likely to appeal to players who love the show, and turn anyone else off.

For all intents and purposes Bakugan: Battle Brawlers is just battle after battle after battle (is that how it got the title?) with slow mechanics and nearly nothing to offer in the way of story, characters or much else.

You could say that it is a competent video game that fans of the franchise will enjoy. But you could also say that Bakugan fans are goddamned idiots.

E. H. gave it a9:
This game was really fun! I enjoyed playing it. And it proves that a video game can make your brain work and gives you lots of exercise.
Robby D gave it a9:
The Only obvious improvement in this first entry would be online Multi-player. Otherwise thise is a GREAT start for the series in gaming!
