Summary

Join some of the most popular cast members from past seasons, including nine stars such as Joey Lawrence and Laila Ali and nine professional dancers as you compete to impress the judges. Dance to thirty-six licensed songs from the show, including “She’s a Lady”, “These Boots are for Walking”, “The Final Countdown”, “I Like The Way You Move”, “Put Your Records On”, and “Independent Woman Part 1”and strut your best dance moves to all ten different dance styles from the show. The game features single-player, head-to-head and duet modes. On the Wii, players use the Wii Remote and the Nunchuk to physically mimic elegant dance moves while at the same time allowing the player to add his or her own personal flair! The PlayStation 2 version is compatible with the licensed PlayStation 2 system dance mats available on the market. [Activision]

I’m really kind of embarrassed that I’m giving this game such a high score. I thought I was going to hate it, but I really liked it. Now all they need to do is combine the hand motion dancing from this game with a DDR style game to get the full body involved and you’ll have a really hard and involved dancing game on your hands.

Seriously, if you made it this far and are still interested in getting the game, don't. Dancing with the Stars is an potentially interesting idea wrapped up in a fraudulent game that's really just a mini-game in Rayman Raving Rabbids.

The Wiire

This is a $5 rhythm mini-game with Dancing with the Stars wrapping inflated to full retail price. This is the kind of "game" that kids typically get for mailing in 10 Ovaltine UPC bar codes and a nominal charge for shipping and handling.

Lets remember this game is rated for 10+, My 6 yr old plays and my wife who never plays video games loves it. It is a good game to get the family together. That is why i give it an 8.

WII- I was really expecting more.... as my husband searched all over our city and metro area for this game I felt obligated to play it, even though I knew it couldn't be good with no mat or anything. I'm so disappointed in it. All the hype around the game (prob built up by myself) and then to sit on the couch and dance with the stars. Really let down.

Bought this for the mum-in-law for Christmas. We all played it at the traditional Christmas dinner. Fun was had by all. Yes, it is a light simplistic game. But the ladies like it, and it is good in a mixed group to get non-gamers up in front of the TV making fools of themselves. Quote from a friend at the party: "It's like Guitar Hero only lamer".

DDR for your hands! What a disappointment! It does get faster and more difficult, but there's no dancing involved whatsoever.
