Gamer 2.0
Still, it’s a solid rental and a good way to spend some time having a bit of fun. If you really want to kick ass as the Fantastic 4, go play Marvel: Ultimate Alliance.

I am not going to lie to you, I got so bored playing this game by myself that I didn’t finish it.

The Wii controls add a thin veil to make you feel like you're not just mashing A the entire time, but you are. This game is literally you punching as your favorite member of the Fantastic Four for hours on end.
Read Full Review >Games Radar (in-house)
The game follows a simple beat 'em up formula that will keep you entertained for awhile, but it lacks so much of the depth and creativity that we expect from the comics and movies.

If you would like to play as the Fantastic Four but in a good game, play Marvel's Ultimate Alliance.

Some decent ideas do fight there way to the surface. [Aug 2007, p.68]

It's what a bag of roast beef crisps is to a Sunday roast with all the trimmings. [Sept 2007, p.90]
Game Revolution
Really, with the Wii controller and nunchuck the game becomes even more tedious.

This is a simply another lame attempt to attract young fans and unknowing parents to buy something based on the license. Rise of the Silver Surfer has all the gameplay value of a bad Streets of Rage clone.
A poorly put-together game that suffers from incompetent AI, terrible graphics, mistimed sound effects, repetitive level design, and button-smashing combat.

Tiresome nonsense. [Sept 2007, p.40]
Game Almighty
It borrows so heavily from the format of "Marvel Ultimate Alliance" that you’ll likely be hard pressed to find anyone who won’t tell you to simply play that game instead. Considering all the bad movie games we’ve seen in the past year, saying that this is one of the worst should really mean something.

Every aspect of the game is categorically bad; the story is tough to follow, the graphics are lousy, and the gameplay is so contrived and repetitive that it's unlikely anyone will garner much enjoyment from the game, no matter how low their standards are for being entertained.
There is a special level of Video Game Hell reserved for ROTSS. Simply by existing, it has made the world that much less fun. It's the videogame equivalent of watching your dog being run over, with worse production values.
Really, The Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer is a mess and a frighteningly terrible video game.

Oliver C. gave it a4:
Nice effects, but the game is really boring. Enemies come, you kill them, you move on until more enemies come.
Ethan R. gave it a3:
You guys below don't know how to rate a game. This was the most repetitive game i've ever played. Each level is identical! No new details or anything. The whole game is hurting endless waves of enemies. I mean they should've added a chase level with the surfer or something but nope! This was an awful game with even worse graphics! It was short too! It lasted like an hour!
Geoffrey C. gave it a7:
Passable graphics, strong effects, clunky interface. Will keep the young ones happy, group attacks are fun.
David W. gave it a9:
Good game for the Wii. Much better than Spiderman3!
Isiah P/ gave it a10:
This game is very inpressive. i say this beats marvel ultimate alliance. worth buying.
