(Currently available in the UK/EU only) Go head-to-head with the greatest PDC Champions and be part of the year’s most fierce console Championship with PDC World Championship Darts 2008. Starring even more Champions, the full line up of electrifying tournaments, exceptional graphic enhancements, even more play modes and additional formats - PDC World Championship Darts is back for 2008. The first ten to be announced include Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor, the greatest player ever to throw a dart, winning his 13th World Championship title in 2006. Also starring in the game are Colin ‘Jaws’ Lloyd, the number one player in the world in 2004 and 2005, winning two major titles along the way, Peter ‘One Dart’ Manley, double World Champion John ‘Darth Maple’ Part from Canada and the ever-popular Wayne “Hawaii 501” Mardle. Official Nintendo Magazine UK
It's a decent darts game and the Wii Remote adds a certain degree of realism to the proceedings. Unfortunately, the atmosphere is more local pub than Ally Pally. [Apr 2008, p.82]

If you’re after a challenge, PDC 2008 isn’t going to disappoint you; getting good at the game is almost akin to getting good at the real thing.

Total Video Games
Although PDC 2008 will undoubtedly have darts fans jockeying to the oche, the fun will probably be relatively short-lived for everybody else. With no Mii options and limited Party modes, it's also hard to imagine PDC World Championship Darts 2008 appealing to the Wii Sports crowd. Nevertheless, at least it finally makes a darts videogame seem ever so slightly less pointless.

The result of this attention to detail and commitment to develop an ongoing Wii version of the game is a great little experience. If you have even a slight inkling towards darts and a smattering of patience to persevere for a few hours with the controls you will find a lot of fun here.

A good version of the game but the mishandling of the controls on Wii is a diabolical error. [Issue#20, p.87]

Console Monster
It will take a very particular type of gamer to appreciate this game, as every aspect of the title is very mediocre and not very polished.

Despite the dreadful audio PDC Darts World Championship is a good darts simulation. With a few minor problems with the controls and a few uninspiring graphics the game will keep many occupied for many hours.

The gameplay works, but the simple presentation and general lack of polish unfortunately relegate the game to something only a very small minority will enjoy.

Best for darts fans with spare money. Has potential that will hopefully be worked on for next year.

So there you have it – a darts game that offers a fairly miserable experience for non-darts fans, but uses the licence well enough to divert the attention of a fan of the televised sport for ever-so slightly longer.

Boomtown
So far, so 1/10! But, despite the control issues, the awful production values and the Create-a-player mode being the most stripped down and useless creation tool I’ve ever seen (there aren’t even any stats to give your player), PDC still has that ‘something’ that makes it worthy of more than that.

This installment is too marred by low production values to be considered recommendable even for fans of the sport and even considering its budget price.

Terrible presentation and poor controls mean PDC World Championship Darts 2008 is a long, long way from the bull's-eye.

The game looks rubbish and is dull to play. Flicking a Wii remote might be more like throwing a dart than pressing a button but it's not much more fun. The novelty wears off in about the same amount of time it takes to throw a dart. Toss.

You'd think that the Wii would be suited to a darts game. It may very well be, but this sure ain't it. [Apr 2008, p.67]

Jonas A. gave it a3:
just seems game play is weak. there is many things this game lacks

Alan C. gave it an8:
If your a darts fan this is great fun, although the control is difficult trying to hold the wiimote like a dart, wish someone would create a dart like wiimote would be really realistic then.

Eric B. gave it a10:
Better than darts in the pub - cos you are still allowed to smoke in your own home.(for now)

Jocky W. gave it a10:
Best game of darts to be had outside the pub.
