[WiiWare] The Space Invaders are back, and this time they're out to get even. Take control of a UFO and make those Earthlings pay by unleashing your fleet of heroic invaders against their puny tanks, fighter jets and artillery. Use your invaders' five attack types and the might of the mother ship to rack up high scores, then upload them via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and see where you stand in the worldwide rankings. Official Nintendo Magazine UK
It's brilliant. [Dec 2008, p.96]

NGamer UK
An original, challenging and addictive shooter that will keep you coming back to the shop menu to buy the rest of the downloadable levels. Episodic! Ace! [Dec 2008, p.75]

Nintendo Life
Space Invaders Get Even is a wonderful new take on the franchise. Reversing the roles was a stroke of genius. Blowing up buildings never gets old and it’s fun to be the bad guy every now and then.

Cheat Code Central
There’s one important thing to note before going into Get Even. While the initial game download is a mere 500 Wii Points, it only contains two areas and a boss battle. To get access to additional areas, you’ll have to shell out 500 additional Wii Points each for three add-on level packs. Each offers a new ship, new objectives, and new levels.

1UP
Get Even's cities are simple and fairly nondescript, but the game strikes a smart presentational tone, juxtaposing serious-sounding tunes with the obviously bizarre happenings, not to mention visual words of praise ("Cool!") and amusing human radio transmissions ("Our forces are not equipped to take on 2D targets!"). Frustratingly, it comes at a higher cost than expected, as the initial $5 purchase delivers but a single three-stage mission (about 15 minutes of play).

GameSpot
If you spend the full $20, you get a mighty fine, if overpriced, single-player game. Since the majority of the gameplay is only available when you buy the downloadable content, Get Even feels like a demo with a price tag on it.

IGN
It's a great reimagining of the franchise and if money is no object to you you'll have a blast. But when most of us buy a game, even if it only costs $5, we expect more than a half hour of gameplay.

The Onion (A.V. Club)
The game doesn't take the time to explain the rules. You're immediately thrown into a fight and expected to muddle your way through. This is not how you encourage people to spend another 15 bucks.

Edge Magazine
By the second of third level you’ll feel that Get Even has shown you everything it has. The odd moment of redemption comes with an excellent boss here, a Taito in-joke there, and the invaders. [Feb 2009, p.95]
