This 3D party game based on the Tamagotchi franchise promises tons of fun as up-to-four players can go head-to-head in the most comical and cute campaign race to become the most popular Tamagotchi on Tamagotchi Planet. Tamagotchi Party On! is a seamless blend of both party game and board game as players swing, shake, and turn their Wii controllers in order to control their favorite Tamagotchi. Swing your Wii controllers and turn the whole planet into your playing board. Tamagotchi Party On! allows players to choose their favorite virtual pet and engage in a hilarious campaign to become the next president of Tamagotchi Planet. Earn your popularity by going up against three friends or solo in over 15 unique and totally addictive mini-games including shaking hands, finding lost children, and testing your public speaking skills. In order to succeed at each of these mini games, players have to swing, shake, point, turn and twist their Wii controllers in order to increase their popularity. Gamers can also use Gotchi points that they earn along the way to level up their characters and customize their very own campaign headquarters. With over six different towns to win over and tons of popularity points to be earned in a number of fun and quirky mini-games, Tamagotchi Party On! brings out the fun in politics without all the mudslinging! Cuteness doesn't make up for the lack of an enjoyable game - we hope this only serves a short term in office. [JPN Import; Mar 2007, p.60]

It's got plenty of cute Tamagotchis, but it's short on depth and is seriously lacking in the fun department.

A terrible "Mario Party" clone that offers nothing for gamers over five. [Nov 2007, p.85]

GameSpy
The party mentioned in the title is a very short one and players will likely decide to leave it early to knock on other doors: Rayman: Raving Rabbids and Wario Ware offer much more fun for only slightly more cash.

Sadly, "younger players" are exactly the audience that will get the most frustrated, and with the overabundance of minigame driven experiences on the Wii, there are plenty of more enjoyable options.

A boring party game that lacks the pace and originality of its genre counterparts, Tamagotchi: Party On should be avoided at all costs.

IGN
The mini-games are shallow and one-player only, each turn drags on far too long, and the sheer lack of any actual “party” elements keeps it from attaining even the basic – yet still redundant – entertainment found in the long-lived Mario Party series.

Nintendo Power
The game moves painfully slow as a result, with the vast majority of your time spent watching opponents take their turns. [July 2007, p.97]

Tamagotchi Party On! does not give me a single reason to recommend it to anyone. The game is impossible to play with a single player, but the absence of multiplayer mini-games makes this game a complete waste of time for the party gamer--not to mention that actually convincing someone to play this game with you will be a challenge.

An ill-conceived mess. The board game is lifeless. The mini-games barely qualify as games. This is easily one of the worst titles for the Nintendo Wii.

A great game. Highly recommended. The best game on Wii by far.

Bryan M. gave it a0:
Tamagotchi has been died for years it was almost died when I was 6 and right now I am 10. just like neopets. don't make crappy games. It is not even worth a single dollor. my little cousion played it and he likes almost all games. but he almost snaped the desk in half after just playing about 10 or 9 minutes of it. if it was not a rental I think he would have.

Courtney W. gave it a1:
DO NOT waste your money on stupidity like this!! They are not even cute. They are dumb little fur balls. The turns drag on for what seems to be an eternity. It might be fun for 5 year olds who are fans but not for anyone else.
