(Currently available in the UK/EU only) Pit your wits against chess experts from around the continent and prove yourself a master strategist in Wii Chess. Featuring state of the art artificial intelligence and the option of going head to head in two-player mode (with a friend at home or online via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection), Wii Chess will test your knowledge of the game to the limits and bring the intensity of international competition into your living room. When you take your seat at the virtual table you will be able to control the movement of your pieces by simply holding the Wii Remote vertically and using the +Control Pad and A and B Buttons. Extensive options let you customise the look of the pieces and board you are playing with, while beginners can choose to get a helping hand in the form of on-screen prompts that remind them where each piece can move. You can even record and replay your games to see where you went wrong or enjoy your victory all over again. Perhaps your stiffest challenge will come when facing the game itself. I like chess, Wii Chess has lots of sensible options, and the online play works, but it's missing a few things that would make it better, like voice comms, correspondence options and of course motion sensor controls for dangling a piece over a square and then putting it back down again.

Well, it's chess and nothing more. If you need to play chess either against and ai opponent or online on your wii then this game gives you what you want. There are no real extras of any sort, presentation is bland, and everything smacks of minimal effort being made just to cash in on the Touch Generations label, which previously has had some interesting titles. This really should have been a free channel or an inexpensive WiiWare title. Quite why they decided to release it on a disc is beyond me. Anyway, it's a basic chess game , and that's all there is to say about it.
