Dead or Alive Ultimate is a powerhouse combination of the double million-seller Dead or Alive 2 and the original Sega Saturn classic that started it all, Dead or Alive 1, which was never available in the US market. Dead or Alive 1 will be a perfect rendition of the sublime Sega Saturn original that will surely become an irreplaceable addition to any Dead or Alive fan’s collection, and Dead or Alive Ultimate is being completely redesigned to fully harness the power of the Xbox to create incredible highquality interactive visuals that will leave players gasping for breath; visuals that were completely impossible on previous-generation game consoles. Team Ninja's main vision in the creation of Dead or Alive Ultimate is to form an online community that DOA fans from around the world will be able to join and play. A multiple assortment of special features is also included in the collection. These include an assortment of costumes, many battle stages and interactive environments, an opening movie, unique 2-disc set packaging with inclusion of collectible trading cards, and a bonus feature, information on which will be revealed at a later time. The gorgeous graphics and scantily dressed women will lure gamers into Dead or Alive Ultimate, but it's the game play that will keep fighters trading blows for months.

The visuals are absolutely stunning, there are dozens of things to unlock (including some things that were not originally in DOA2) and the online play has been implemented flawlessly, giving us, for the first time, an online 3D fighter that actually feels like a group of players at an arcade and even includes tournaments and championships.

Team Xbox
The extreme difficulty of Team Ninja games, combined with jaw-dropping visuals and technically sound gameplay programming is what makes them so special. DOAU is a masterpiece for the reasons aforementioned, but also due to the fact that they did something that only one other developer has done so far - put 3D fighting online on the Xbox.

Ben gave it a10:
Excellent game, you can play for hours on end with xbox live or multiplayer.

Some Guy gave it a0:
DoA is not a game, it's a graphics demo, therefore it deserves no points as a game. The graphics are incredibly good with flawless framerates, but there's nothing to play. The elaborate fighting system is a complete failure due to the fact that a normal human being (= most of the population) can't react fast enough to do counters or holds. This means that your only option is to push your kick and punch button in random order and hope it works. You have maybe 0.4 seconds of reaction time at most, during which you have to recognize the attack (low kick, high kick, middle kick, low punch, middle punch, high punch, flying kick, flying punch, throw) and react in a specific manner. Good luck with that.

Jimmi A. gave it an8:
It´s a very good 3D fighting game. If you love DOA3 you must have DOA Ultimate. DOA2 with DOA3 graphics, and a bonus you get DOA1. The only thing i was disapointed was the could done DOA1 in the same graphic and play feeling like DOA2, but you can´t have everything. The downside in the whole serie is the game is not balanced to 100%. Still is the Virtua Fighter 4 Evo. the best 3D fighting game in allaround (Graphic, balance, characters etc), so far.... But i´ts not much different today = )

RadarRider gave it a 10:
Great fighting game and the best in the series. Sure it's mechanics aren't on par with vf4, but it's solid enough to hold it's own. It's easy to pick up and play for newbies, but offers enough depth for hardcore gamers as well. Highly recommended.

Austin R. gave it a 10:
Even though this game is rather difficult, it makes one hell of a fighting gamer afterward. The graphics are the most advanced I have seen yet, and if you are lucky enough to beat the entire game, the gallery is a wonderful prize worthy of cherishing along with the costumes. But where is Christie?

Dakidski gave it a 10:
Great game. Team Ninja respects gamers wish for perfect fluid framerates. No sloppy coding here. Plenty of costumes and secrets. Soon I might even put away my Dreamcast! Vote is based on offline mode.

Captain Falcon gave it an 8:
Another excellent fighting game.
