Gamezilla!
A game tailor made for action junkies and fans of "The Matrix," a couple of control changes and a slightly easier learning curve might have pushed this one into the “Must buy” category, but it is a solid title.

Merely an okay game that benefits greatly from its movie license. [June 2003, p.106]

Similar in style to games like "Devil May Cry" and "Max Payne," the Matrix lends it's unique style of martial arts and fighting to create an experience which can only be considered to be exceptional.

Gamer's Pulse
With well-rendered cinemas, obvious Hollywood-esque narrative direction, and enough signature Matrix fare from beginning to end via tightly implemented bullet time, the game captures ample essence to qualify as a solid translation.

All is not perfect in Enter the Matrix, but for its few flaws, the game delivers what it is meant to: a very convincing experience inside The Matrix that looks, smells, and feels like... The Matrix. [July 2003, p.76]

Seems to split its aim between hardcore "Matrix" fans and experienced gamers; if you find yourself with a foot in both camps, you may well find this one of the most faithful movie-to-game experiences in recent memory.

The negative points of the title will be obvious to anyone not blinded by their love of the Matrix. Although most are mediocre they still add up to an unfinished, unpolished video game based on a super-popular movie franchise.

A blast to play - it's great mindless escapist fare - exactly like the movie.

The game is by no means a weak attempt to cash in on a franchise...Gamers not only get tons of extra movie action but also get to run, kick, and shoot in a fully realized Matrix universe.

The presentation is excellent overall, but this does not make up for what seems to be yet another rushed movie-license game. Rent it first.

For fanz of the Matrix and those that must simply figure what the Matrix really is, will pick up Enter the Matrix and have a blast. For everyone else, Enter the Matrix is an above-average action game with some cool moves and awesome production values (but repetitive).

The first time you pull off a spinning kick off the wall, don't be surprised if a smile creases your lips. If only the whole game was able to capture the fun inherent in the fight sequences, it would be a true masterpiece.

Enter the Matrix isn't a perfect slice of interactive entertainment, but it does provide at least a dozen hours of action-packed fun and serves as a clever vehicle to expand on the events in "The Matrix Reloaded."

The music, sound effects, cool fight scenes, bullet time and being able to fight an Agent. It’s all good. This is the very nature of a license – you love to hate them and hate to love them. They bring as many problems as they do solutions but every once in a while the good stuff outweighs the bad.

While the original plot and movie footage are an interesting look into the backstory between The Animatrix, Reloaded and the original film, the lackluster action, replayability and glitches severely hamper this title from truly being great.

The game's story isn't strong enough to stand on its own, and the gameplay simply doesn't save it, making the game worth a look for hard-core fans of The Matrix films, but a buggy disappointment for just about anyone else.

Its coolest feature is the glossy cover art. Dig inside and what you'll find is a game devoid of personality, thrills, and fun. In short, Enter the Matrix is everything it shouldn't have been, and nothing more.

The implementation here is nearly a complete waste, considering the richness of the universe involved. Lousy controls, sterile and anemic environments, and weaksauce driving environments all pull down the good work done in the sound, character graphics and new footage departments.

Kevin R. gave it a 2:
This game was promised to be a revolution in the gaming world. it was incredibly disappointing to find that the graphics were, for the most part, horrible, especially in the animated cut scenes, the driving levels were a joke, the environments were crappy and unrefined, there were some major glitches, the gameplay overall was bland and monotonous, and what the hell were the designers thinking when they made the last levels? ok, we are going to have the player just run for about 10 straight levels, then driving through some dark tunnels. wtf? the only fun parts were at the post office and power plant. other than that and the few cool things you could unlock in the hacking mode, this was a sorry excuse for an action game.

Ben S. gave it a 10:
The hacking area was really useful when you are stuck on a level or you feel like blowing someones brains out. I do think it is a fun challanging game.

Neo chaos gave it a 10:

Brotherevil B. gave it a 10:
Very good.

Uter gave it a 2:
This is the glitchiest game I've ever had the misfortune of playing.

Earlwin F. gave it a 6:
The matrix is pretty good but it had some major flaws. The graphics were prtty descent but the gameplay was awful. It was a basic hack and slash. Punch punch punch kick kick kick. thats all you have to do to beat the game. Not challenging at all, any beginner can beat this game ina couple of hours. Don't waste your time or money on this game. The only cool part about the game was the movies in between the game that let you see seen from Matrix reloaded. Other than that don't waste your time.

Adam S. gave it an 8:
True this game has it glitches, but if you are fan of the movies you will enjoy the cut scenes and most of the game play. The weakest part of the game is the vehicle levels, which are just not fun. Luckily they are easy to get through. The game is short but worth checking out.
