A variety of paths for each mission promises near infinite replayability.

Defies easy categorization by being equal parts a stealth-based sneaker, a puzzler, and a straight-up shooter. After playing video games for so many years, I appreciate games that shake things up a bit.

This game has it all: a solid story, good graphics, sound, level designs, and the ability to choose different paths to complete your mission.

It may not be politically correct, it may even be offensive to some, but when you come right down to it, Hitman 2 is an excellent game.

Ultra violence at its most satisfying with a rich story that will have you cheering for Agent 47 every blood soaked step of the way.

This strategizing is made easier by excellent level design tht allows players multiple, open-ended ways to accomplish objectives. [Dec 2002, p.122]

Makes great strides in improving every inch of the original. This is a longer, deeper and more rewarding experience.

Exceptionally well done in most every way and represents a major improvement over the original.

The action and espionage genre come together in this game, and come together in a most impressive form.

It oozes style and has enough heart n' soul to clearly illustrate how much the developers really loved their baby.

A well conceived and executed third person game with superior video and audio elements worthy of the system.

With only a couple of exceptions, every assignment can be tackled in a dozen different ways. [Winter 2002, p.100]

A fantastic stealth shooter that, for the most part, utilizes its strengths to great detail, providing a unique experience in terms of level design and the morality of killing in videogames.

The gameplay is where the fun shines in as it mixes twitchy gunplay with a puzzle-like bent to stalking your prey.

It is the freedom players have to go about their missions however they desire, the single most important element preventing many good games from shooting up to the level of great ones.

Gory, sometimes more so than some would like, yet unique and ultimately satisfying.

The save game system and the control scheme add to the difficulty more than they should.

A deep, refreshingly stylistic adventure that lets you play at the pitch you desire. [Dec 2002, p.83]

Santa gave it a9:
This is one of the best games ive ever played. the graphics are awsome and the story is pretty good. the only thing that I dont like about it is that some of the missions were almost impossible.
James C. gave it an8:
Fun and chalenging. Graphics are pretty good. Would like to see smarter enemies. Can be a little repetitive. Otherwise a good game. Don't miss this!!!
Fred C. gave it a 10:
By far a 10, top of my list of games ever. Still blows other games out of the water...and I imagine number 3 will be just as badass.
James H. gave it a 7:
Enjoyable but not a classic. This is a compelling game but falls down in several areas that prevent it from getting a higher score in my opinion. Firstly the story is lamentable and appears almost an afterthought in the game's development. Secondly there are nowhere near enough innocent bystanders (in some cases there are none). There is a selection of weapons that can be amassed but they are not necessary for the missions and seem to be (in the main part) useless if a player is trying to achieve the highest ranking (silent assassin). Thirdly AI of some of the characters is decent in the most part but occasionally a little dodgy and frustrating. Fourthly the level design of some of the levels, most notably the Japan missions, is overly large and frustrating. On the plus side, there are some very satisfying moments in the game. Getting strangulation kills with the fibre wire and long range sniper kills are both pretty satisfying. Overall this game is frustrating but just about worth having... perhaps not for the full price though...
Michael C. gave it an 8:
Very entertaining game, but a little on the difficult side. The graphics are great, and there is a lot to do in every mission. Plus, its pretty open-ended, so there's often more than one way to complete a mission. Stealth/action fans will love it, those looking for a fast-paced shoot-'em-up won't.
Lazy Lewis gave it an 8:
A really, really fun game! Collecting guns that you can keep is great and the fact you have a home in Spain rocks! The graphics are alright but what they lack the game play and story make up! A truly successful 3rd person/1st person shooter!

A game that will let you think that you are a hitman. True tense stealth and 47 is looking good.
