New "Uber" Tricks take airborne tricks to the next level, with flips, twirls, and much more. New Garibaldi and Alaska courses let you get more vertical and catch more air, while all the original courses have some new surprises. Six new riders join most of the original SSX crew to provide a wide range of abilities and competition. [EA Sports]

Xbox Exclusive
There really isn't much that I can find with the game that is wrong, or even remotely wrong, other than Eddie. There isn't a reason to have hair that big and that orange in any type of game.

It lacks the initial "grab" that the original had, but after a couple of courses, you're hooked on this new drug, and you won't want to stop.

SSX Tricky has amazing graphics, hands down. There aren’t any weather effects in the game, but that’ll hardly be noticed with the amazing level design and diverse textured backgrounds.

Of the three, this version of Tricky has the best controls and graphics. That makes this the best version available.

Taking advantage of the space on that the DVD allows you to have, there’s a lot of information that can be viewed in terms of the making of the game. You’ll see some famous stars such as Oliver Platt and David Arquette talk about lending their voices to the game.

IGN
There's enough newness in Tricky --the Uber Tricks and Rivalry system-- to differentiate it from it's predecessor but still make the game work as a whole. So if you played it to death or missed SSX on the PS2, on Xbox you're getting the best version possible.

It is the best version around, but it’s because the game is just so much fun that people should pick this one up. If you’ve own the PS2 version or have played it before, there’s not much point.

Looks slightly better than the PS2 and GameCube versions of the game, but its unstable frame rates can occasionally hamper the gameplay experience...If you have a choice, the PS2 version is still recommended.

The finely tuned play mechanics are what make the game so astonishingly fun to play. [Mar 2002, p.68]

But what really makes SSX Tricky a great reissue is the trick system. Before, where squatting in preparation to jump locked you into a straight line, now you can turn when using the analog stick.

It manages to work well on the Xbox...though the PS2 version is still probably the best of the three.

For the Xbox, the game has gotten a bit of a facelift, but only for the characters. The courses are laid out the as the PS2 version.

It redoubles the series' push towards classic status and is, essentially, the next addiction for an entire generation of Tony Crack junkies. [Spring 2002, p.76]

It's an enormous game and works brilliantly, allowing you to earn points to customise your character and unlock all the courses. SSX Tricky makes the perfect companion to Xbox's other, far more serious, snowboarding game, Amped.
