At its core, Tiger 07 has ditched most of the bad case of the sillies that's possessed it for the past few years, and it finally feels authentic. [Nov. 2006, p.80]
Armchair Empire
No matter how you tee it up, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 is simply the best golfing game available today.

Even though it is still the same formula EA has gone with for years, Tiger Woods PGA Tour continues to be play home to a winning formula that has gone largely unchanged for a good reason.

Should be seen as the greatest game in a long line of excellent golf titles. This game is the culmination of six years of genre dominance. The new team game modes are fresh and fun, while the structure of the Team Tour is a perfect blend of team management and in-game strategy.

The environments are looking a little dated, graphically, but the swing mechanics are terrific and the game is a lot of fun, from the moment you tee off in your first PGA event to the host of mini games, to the team elements.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 is an under par performer, which is actually a good thing!

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 is undoubtedly the best golf game on the market right now. If you picked up last year’s version, however, the refinements—unless you’re a diehard Tiger fan—may not be enough to warrant the purchase.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 is the greatest Tiger yet, but it's starting to feel like season five of The Sopranos. It's still the greatest show on TV, but it's starting to feel a bit stale.

As the series’ last hoorah on the Xbox Tiger Woods 07 succeeds with flying colors. For the first time in sports gaming history, it’s actually acceptable to bring gamers what they’ve had before.

Is this game head and shoulders above Tiger Woods '06? We'd venture to say yes. The annoying gamebreakers are gone, more flexibility is in, and the gameplay is as tight as ever.

Hardcore golfers will be disappointed that Tiger Woods PGA Tour isn't making revolutionary improvements, and everyone else will wonder why EA can't seem to make fields of green look prettier, but it's still the best golf game you can buy on any platform.

It adds a new wrinkle to your career mode via Team Tour mode. You'll beat the usual club pros as you go up the ladder, but this time you can add them to your team.

Still the best golf game out there, but a short list of new extras means it's not worth the cash if you already own "06." [Nov 2006, p.68]

It is undeniably the best of the series and it has more than enough content to offer. However, the problem is that the difference in price between the 06 and the 07 edition of the game does not correspond favourably with the number of improvements that have been made.

There's very little that's truly new in Tiger Woods 07, but it's still a very good game.

EA keep it tight and predictable to see out this generation. Good, but familiar. [Nov 2006, p.70]
DailyGame
The Team Tour mode is fun, but everything else about the game has been seen/done before. Maybe a $25 price should be next year's "added feature."

It plays well, has a fantastic create a golfer mode, and has a host of different ways to play.

The recently released "ProStroke Golf" demonstrated how a more advanced control system can work on consoles, and playing Tiger Woods 07 does feel like a slight step back. At the same time, the controls have a simplicity to them that makes the game easy to play, and there is level of depth to the control and shot choice for the more serious players.

In the end, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 is a solid golf game that should keep you interested for hours. [Nov. 2006, p.103]

Ryan D. gave it a6:
Not impressed - it's obvious the developers have decided to put no effort into addressing some of the key irritations from the last season's effort. The new content consists of a different career mode, some new game modes (which were mildly interesting) and a few courses. However we still have a ridiculous tournament mode with totally contrived and unrealistic opponent scoring and zero immersion factor. We still have a number of irritating physics bugs that are identical to last year's offering. And now we have a few more bugs to contend with - e.g. no wind during career and tournament mode, regardless of difficulty setting. Pah - it's obvious this was not quality controlled to any great extent by EA Sports.
John P. gave it an8:
The game is basically the same as last year but with some good improvements. Many of the bugs found in last year's title have been fixed and the career mode doesn't require a time machine to play (last year you travelled through the ages... what is that?). I'm not a big fan of the special game modes but the one ball game mode is actually quite fun. All in all it's a solid game.
