Gaming Age

They have done an amazing job of re-creating the intense thrill of being out in the ocean in large surf. I know from experience. The very first time I started a session with the game I got butterflies in my stomach.

Yes, I was surprised that the Xbox had this as a launch game, but after experiencing its easy controls and beautiful graphics, my opinion was changed.

GameSpy

It's a huge step in legitimizing surfing games, much like how THPS was for skateboarding games. The graphics are very impressive, the controls tight, and the wave physics accurate.

From the music to the finer details, TransWorld Surf allows you to really immerse yourself in the environment. The music soundtrack is very well done and probably one of the best I have seen in any game.

The water effects and movement of the waves are brilliant and great at capturing the feel of the waves as you balance precariously on them or pull yourself over them to get to the next breaker out there.

Uter gave it a 5:
Admitedly it is a tough assignment making a surfing game fun, but here I don't think they succeeded.

Jesse S. gave it a 9:
This game is great for what it is. Its not tony hawk and its not a skateboarding game so dont expect it to play like one. Its a surfing game, and a bloody brilliant one at that.
