[Xbox Live Arcade] Define your legacy. Awaken your inner beast. Fight as one of the three powerful warriors of Artemis as you confront Gorgon herself in Arkadian Warriors. Embark on a trek of epic proportions, traverse treacherous dungeons, fight off hordes of hideous enemies, and take on heinously powerful bosses. You must save the goddess Artemis and return the mythical land of Arkadia to the people. Warriors...unite and defend! Three mighty warriors: Choose to play as a Soldier, Archer, or Sorceress To save the land of Arkadia. Unique abilities: Each warrior has unique fighting and shape-shifting abilities. The real key to Arkadian Warriors’s success is the way in which Wanako made the user interfaces super simple and extremely user-friendly.

Story line is nil. I found myself becoming “stuck” with the camera angles more than once. The last boss was too easy. But, with the amount of fun to be had, both solo and multi-player co-op and length of game, I cannot recommend this title enough. It is definitely worth the 800 Microsoft Points.

Planet Xbox 360

The limits to the number of quests to take on and number of players in a co-op game really hold the game back from being one of the best Arcade offerings around.

Strangely addicting.

Official Xbox Magazine

The frenzied pace makes for a pleasant enough co-op diversion, but it's also one that's devoid of meaning or longevity. [Feb 2008, p.79]

Extreme Gamer

Falling in the middle of good and mediocre, Arkadian Warriors stacks up as an adequate action game for the Xbox Live Arcade.

Good for some generic mindless fun with your friends.

As anticipation goes, it certainly delivers and keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what's going to happen next or whether there is another surprise yet to be revealed. [Issue#29, p.120]

GameZone

When all is said and done, the fun factor suffers from the repetition, and the game – while it fits the download concept well, and is a good arcade idea – stumbles in places that should have been shining moments. Arkadian Warriors is too much like Gauntlet, without the cleverness of the levels.

It's enjoyable for a quest or two, but then it feels like an exercise in mindless repetition.

Games Radar (in-house)

But to really enjoy this game without feeling stupid for paying for it, you have to forget all about Champions of Norrath or any downloadable RPG you can go get on the internet for free.

IGN

We can handle repetitious gameplay in our dungeon crawlers -- it’s generally mindless fun. When you add in a total lack of variety in dungeon and mission design and just toss a bunch of generic monsters our way, it just becomes mindless.

Too much formula and too little imagination make Arkadian Warriors rigid and dull.

Gaming Nexus

Arkadian Warrior could have been the Xbox Live Arcade's Diablo, but due to lazy programming, a boring story, repetitive level designs and crummy graphics, it just ends up being another average action RPG.

The entire single player campaign is absolutely short; as in a handful of hours.

Game Chronicles

The main idea I want you all to take away from this review is that Arkadian Warriors is not really an RPG. A more accurate genre description would be “Almost-2D side-scrolling hack and slash.” If that sounds like fun to you, knock yourself out. I think I will use my $10 to help pay for another month of WoW.

Eurogamer

There should be no shame in sticking to a formula, but Arkadian Warriors reproduces it with so little ambition it plays like an ABC of what the genre needs to avoid to move forwards; appearing content to wallow in a stereotype because action role-playing games are under-represented on Live Arcade.

Xbox World 360 Magazine UK

An RPG-lite that's just too watered down to be at all enjoyable. [Mar 2008, p.94]

Joe Score-Whore gave it a3:
All around poor execution. Too bad, I was looking for a cute hack n slash to play with my bro.

Dade gave it a9:
This is a casual Gauntlet style dungeon crawler with RPG elements and i find it to be quite fun.

Graphitti gave it a5:
Imagine Diablo with slightly better graphics and a childish plot. Ta Da! Arkadian Warriors. Mindless button mashing and hacking through dungeons for slightly better weapons and armor. Slightly cool that it has multiplayer.

Ramzy J. gave it a7:
It's a fun game and worth buying if you have nothing better to do gameplay is simple and its a good way to waste 1-3 hours.
