One of the more expensive XNA Community Games out there at 800 Microsoft Points (about 10 bucks), this might detract some players given that it’s a Community Game; however, the sharp, professional quality mixed with addictive gameplay and expansive game selection makes Biology Battle quite the bargain.

Novaleaf has created a fully fleshed out game, one that is packed full of replay value and keeps the old school "one more try" spirit alive. Some gamers might not want to drop 800 Points for a Community Game, but there's more value here than some of the 1200 Point XBLA games out there.

Novaleaf has created a wonderful game full of action that can compete with any of the games currently on live.

Sure, it owes some major debts to Geometry Wars. But there's a ton of innovation here, and arcade-shooter fans would be well-advised to give it a download. The developers and Community should be proud.

With that said, Biology Battle is certainly in the upper spectrum of Geometry Wars clones, but whether you want to fork out 800 points for it depends on your love for the genre, and the deepness of your virtual wallet.

A workable contender in the Live Community, Biology Battle is a worthy addition to the shmup library, but whether or not players will want to throw down 800MS over other Live titles could keep this quirky shoot 'em up from the ranks inhabited by better games.

There's no doubt that Biology Battle is an extremely polished title. It lacks some refinement in the menu designs, but in-game it's easily good enough to pass as a full Xbox LIVE Arcade title. The problem the game and its developer has is that Geometry Wars can be bought for 400 MS Points and the sequel can be had for 800 MS Points - the same price as Biology Battle.

Overall this is a fun game. If you are a fan of this genre I would definitely give the game a try.

When it comes down to it, Biology Battle is fun dual-stick shooter.

As fun and addictive as it is, though, it's still a basic shoot 'em up which you would be likely to quit were you handed any higher profile titles. The real-time ranking system is inspired, particularly for the stat whores amongst us, and multiplayer is of reasonable appeal, but Biology Battle is still only a time waster rather than a truly enveloping game.

Although quite basic in it’s nature, Biology Battle is a very fun and addictive game to play, so whether you are playing single player or versus you will find this hard to put down while playing. The only thing that may put people off the game is the 800 MS points price tag, however if you do part with the points you shouldn’t be too disappointed.

It delivers your exact RDA of dancing neon lights and evasive excitement. [Issue#41, p.112]
Eurogamer
It feels off-kilter. There's surface polish, but the more you look, the less deep understanding of the genre is present.
