Buy it, enjoy it, love it and make it a success - Cloning Clyde, in any of his many guises, personifies what Xbox Live Arcade is all about, and we need more games with the same originality, sparkle and fun factor as this one.

Xboxic
The menus are beautifully simplistic, and the presentation in all is a fine job. The game is absolutely hilarious, starting with the help notes in the training stage to the overall feel of Clyde’s further adventures. It’s all absurd and great fun.

Gamenikki
It's over too soon, but that speaks more to Clyde's addictiveness than to the brevity of the game.

90
Gamezilla!
Overall, this is my favorite Arcade game for the simple fact it is original. The humor, graphics, puzzles and challenge level all feel great.

90
Extreme Gamer
It's a neat concept that differs from the normal gameplay and is really fun to cause havoc over the six available multiplayer arenas.

90
Game Chronicles
Cloning Clyde represents everything that is exciting and innovative about XBLA. It’s a slick game with pleasing visuals and sound, enjoyable and challenging gameplay, and all around great presentation.

90
Console Gameworld
Cloning Clyde is one of the best games on Xbox Live Arcade to date. It’s an original idea instead of a port from the Atari age.

87
Xbox World Australia
What you end up getting with Cloning Clyde is an excellent example of a classic style puzzler remade and infused with just enough cheek and humour to definitely be worth the asking price of 800 Microsoft Points.

86
Team Xbox
It’s just a goofy contest with about three dozen puzzling levels to keep you occupied and entertained for a while.

85
Gamers' Temple
Cloning Clyde is a great game for those times when you’re looking to squeeze a small gaming session into your schedule. In fact, most of Cloning Clyde’s levels can be completed in under five minutes.

85
Official Xbox Magazine
Thoroughly unserious and full of laughs, this tasty 3D sidescroller offers some entertaining twists on the typical platform game. [Sept 2006, p.81]

XGP Gaming
Cloning Clyde is a breath of fresh air that gives life back to the Arcade.

85
Next Level Gaming
It's fresh, it's a lot of fun, and it's simple. You can't ask for much more than that.

85
Xbox Evolved
The very best Live Arcade title to be released so far. Its simple but intuitive gameplay with have a gamer of any age hooked for quite sometime, and it was re-written the book on how to make your game original and innovative.

85
Talk Xbox
It packs itself chock-full of gaming ecstasy – and when you throw in some superlative production values and a restrained yet delightful soundtrack, you’re looking at a very well-formed package that should be in just about everyone’s collection.

84
Digital Entertainment News
Itching for a fun platformer that doesn’t cost much? Cloning Clyde fits the bill.

82
Planet Xbox 360
The replay value is good with the multiplayer game modes, and if you get really bored you can spice things up with some cheat options.

81
PGNx Media
Cloning Clyde packs about eight or nine hours of gameplay, which is quite a steal since the game only costs the equivalent of $10. It’s lighthearted and quite easy to pick up, making it perfect if you’re looking to fit 30 minutes of a game or a few hours.

81
IGN
One of the most extensive and enjoyable games available on the Xbox Live Arcade. While it's an unfamiliar title to most, it's worth the investment.

80
Games Radar
An incomparably innovative combination of hilarity and diabolical puzzles, Cloning Clyde is also a total bargain at 800 Microsoft points ($5).

80
Deeko
Cloning Clyde is a great game. The action is smooth and fun, the puzzles are challenging but built on a nice learning curve, and there is more than enough variety to keep you busy while the game lasts.

80
EuroGamer
Even at 800 Microsoft points (so, six-quid-eighty), it offers a lot of value compared to some of its fellow test-subjects, and while it does occasionally frustrate or bore, the urge to keep going remains.

80
Yahoo! Games
More than anything, playing Cloning Clyde will give you the sense that someone had an almost unnecessary amount of fun making this game.

80
ZTGameDomain
The simplistic mechanics and unique puzzles bring an old-school flavor to the game that should appeal to just about anyone with a love for gaming in general.

80
DarkStation
Just when games are becoming too complex to be enjoyable, here comes a simple platformer that recaptures the fun of the genre. A nice gem on the Xbox Live Arcade.

Good fun and original. [Issue #16, p.77]

GameCritics
The maze-like level designs may seem a little chaotic at first, but their appearance is misleading. In fact, they're very logically designed and player-friendly. With just a little experimentation, solutions become readily apparent.

78
Gaming Nexus
It's fun and a blast in multiplayer. Cloning Clyde isn't a very deep game but it can be worth your $10 if you like side scrolling games.

76
GameSpot
Cloning Clyde delivers 35 levels of interesting, puzzle-based side-scrolling at a nice price.

76
Cheat Code Central
It's hard not to have a smirk on your face throughout most of the game as you revel in the light-hearted, comical atmosphere. It's a treat not to have to take things so seriously for a change.

75
GameShark
It’s definitely a summer sleeper hit. At 800 points ($10) it’s double the cost of Frogger and Galaga, but I think you’ll get much more enjoyment out of this one game over those two arcade classics.

75
GamePro
Cloning Clyde isn't the deepest puzzler in the world but at 800 Live points, it's a terrific bargain.

75
GamingExcellence
Look into Cloning Clyde, because stepping on buttons and blowing up rocks hasn’t been this much fun in a long time.

73
Gaming Target
The features of Cloning Clyde are certainly good, and the gameplay works for a while, but a little more shape to the story and game experience would’ve really helped grab gamers for the long haul.

70
GamerFeed
Cloning Clyde does lack some of the visual and audio spark that other platformers possess, but it has a style all its own that make it a worthwhile addition to your Xbox Live Arcade library. It's worth the $10.

67
The Onion (A.V. Club)
Controlling and arranging a dozen different Clydes can get tedious; it's a shame you can't bark orders to your other selves, instead of doing all the work yourself.

60
X360 Magazine UK
No one likes finding secret hidden stuff anymore. This is 2006. [Issue 10, p.106]
58
Game Revolution
If you're intrigued by a puzzle platformer involving duplication and genetic mayhem, Cloning Clyde will provide a few hours of enjoyable entertainment, but not much more than that.
