Summary
As the expansion pack to Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars, this Real-time Strategy game returns to the Tiberium universe with Kane at the center of an epic new single player campaign which allows players to experience a new story that spans 20 years – from the rebirth of the Brotherhood of Nod after the Second Tiberium War through the dramatic events of the Third Tiberium War and beyond. The story is told through a new set of high-definition live action video sequences starring a celebrity cast. Joe Kucan, the original actor who portrayed the character Kane in Command & Conquer games over the last decade, reprises his role as the megalomaniacal leader of the Brotherhood of Nod. Kane's Wrath also features a new strategic layer to gameplay that allows players to establish bases, build customized armies, and attack their enemies on a global scale – and then dive into the frenzied tactical combat where their skills as a commander makes the difference in battle. The game introduces six new sub-factions and a wealth of new units, structures, and powers to the armies of the Global Defense Initiative, the Brotherhood of Nod, and the enigmatic alien Scrin. The Xbox 360 version features a revolutionary new radial interface designed specifically for console gamers. EALA R&D'd a new control scheme which does pretty well overall. There’s also a fairly fleshed-out Live arena, a custom Xbox 360 gauntlet mode and the ability to play this title without having to jump it with "Tiberium Wars." All of this– at a price that won’t scare away the RTS n00b– makes this wrath worth enduring.

The exclusion of Global Conquest mode from the PC does not help the idea of choosing this version over its Windows counterpart, but if you enjoyed Tiberium Wars on 360 than you will likely find the same satisfaction here.

It’s a tenner cheaper than C&C 3 (good on yer EA) on account of the fact that it didn’t cost as much to make, being an extension of the first game. If you liked C&C 3, Kane’s Wrath comes highly recommended.

Online play is as good as we’ve seen out of the genre on console, mostly because of the improved controls, but C&C 3’s reliance on hard counters, unit specials, and speedy expansion is a terrible fit for the limitations of the gamepad interface. Kane’s Wrath executes its mediocre ideas solidly, but that doesn’t make it any more fun to play.

If you played C&C3 and came away from it feeling distinctly unmoved by the experience, then Kane's Wrath certainly isn't for you. This is a game for diehard C&C fans or, alternatively, gamers who didn't get around to playing C&C3 last year and fancy a bit of fevered RTS combat over the weekend.

Kane’s Wrath on the 360 isn’t quite a delight, but it’s not a disaster either. The very simple C&C economy is suited to the platform, and since the game is all about beating the stuffing out of other things, there isn’t a lot of tactical nuance to worry about.

Pretty good game. There are a few things that should've been done to make it better though. Kane's Challenge is a nice addition but there really isn't any variety to it for each faction. It's just using the same strategies over and over again which doesn't make the game's lasting appeal very good at all. The campaign is ok for an expansion pack but it just doesn't do much to keep you interested in what is going on. The new sub-factions are a great addition to the game. It brings variety to the factions but, as I said earlier, when you play Kane's Challenge with all of the factions you can just use the same strategy over and over which makes it repetitive. Overall it is a good game.

The production quality on KW 360 is solid, and the cinematics are stellar, but I do agree that the game-play is nothing to remember. Multiplayer and a decent frame rate is really all the game has going for it. The interface is better than Tiberium Wars, but like others have said, the interface in Universe at War 360 is far superior. KW 360 is worth a rent if you are a 360 RTS buff.

Even with the new modified control scheme in KW 360, it still feels very clunky when compared to Universe at War 360. As for gameplay, it is very forgettable. Typical RTS, generic factions. I will say the missions are a least different and mostly tolerable. If Kanes Wrath 360 was sporting the Universe at War 360 interface my review would be at least a 7.0.
