Summary

Knights of the Nine is a compilation that includes all the other Oblivion downloadable content released to date: Horse Armor, The Orrery, Wizard’s Tower, Vile Lair, Thieves Den, Mehrunes' Razor, and Spell Tomes. Knights of the Nine features an all-new faction and quests for noble characters and answers many of the questions surrounding the Ayleid ruins found throughout Oblivion. Players can join a new faction and found their own order of holy knights – leading them into battle against a sorcerer-king and his demonic minions while exploring massive dungeons and searching for legendary relics – the holy armor and weapons of the Divine Crusader. For what you’re paying, you’d expect this expansion to have one-sixth the content of the original game, but it strays far from delivering on this assumption. Still, if you’re desperate for more to do, letting the Knights of the Nine rest in peace has its short-lived rewards.

The beauty of the game, as well as the depth of the immersion and the fun of the gameplay, is still here in abundance. Knights of the Nine is an essential addition for any Elder Scrolls fan.

Pelit (Finland)

A solid adventure with a good story. Good value for money. [Jan 2007]

VideoGamer

Given your avatar's snazzy new wardrobe, base of operations, minions and the righteous euphoria associated with being a force for good, The Knights of the Nine is well worth the 800 Microsoft points.

Console Gameworld

While Knights of the Nine is a pricey piece of downloadable content, it's highly recommended for diehard Oblivion fans. Casual players who have yet to unlock all 1,000 Achievement points from the core game should hold off on buying new content until they've run out of things to do.

A whole new faction - and a memorable one at that - is a decent return on your cash. [Feb 2007, p.65]

If more of the same is what you're after, you can't really argue with what Bethesda's served up for its hardcore fans.

Games Radar (in-house)

Knights of the Nine isn’t in the same league as stellar Morrowind add-ons like "Tribunal" and "Bloodmoon" but any fresh reason to revisit the world of Oblivion once again is all right by us.

Red XIII gave it an8:
If you loved the quests in oblivion, you will love the knights of nine add on, it gives about 20+ hours of extra gameplay, a lot of the same kinda missions (dungeons retrieving artifacts) but different enough to be interesting, if you liked oblivion you will like knights of the nine expansion. plus u get a really cool set of armor.

[Anonymous] gave it a9:
Amazing. They've created a brilliant new story line. The knights of nine part works for almost anyone over level 20 but still remains challenging for higher players.

Chrysops gave it a5:
Too short, and I had already paid for the other stuff, so the value is even lower. they should have offered the campaign as a standalone for those who had paid for the other extras.

Stan Croft gave it a10:
Some amazing effects from a game already known for its amazing graphics. Really fun. Please, sirs, may I have some more?

Ebao gave it an8:
The KotN expansion for Oblivion is great fun, while it lasts. The new items are very nice and are ideal for heavy armoured/paladin characters. My main criticism is that it doesn't last very long at all, a couple of hours at the most. If you already have the other official mods then the retail box set is not worth the money but personally, I think the $10 (for the download version) is worth it for the fun few hours you'll have playing through the quests and swish new items you receive for finishing them.

Andyman gave it a10:
Best Live download EVER. 800 points ($10), and worth every last penny. If you like Oblivion at all, you MUST get this.
