Summary
[Xbox Live Arcade] Han Tao, General of a Thousand Victories, has pledged his life to protect the legendary Star of Destiny, a mysterious artifact recently stolen by the Evil Overlord. Han Tao will face a cavalcade of enemies, ranging from standard grunts to undead horrors in his quest to recover the sacred Star. Luckily Han Tao is well versed in intense combos, slick counter-moves, the art of deadly weapons, and mystical Zen attacks. By filling up Han Tao’s Zen Meter with punishing combos and well timed dodges, players can unlock the full potential of his true power and decimate the opposition. Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao offers a variety of modes for both online and local play: Team up with a partner and take on the Evil Overload’s diabolical army through Story Mode Co-op. Carefully battle through each stage with increased difficulty and a shared Zen Meter. Combat techniques learned through the single player game will serve players well as all-out brawls will leave stragglers in the dust. Endurance Mode has players battling an endless stream of enemies under a specific time limit. Post your scores online for bragging rights. [Namco Bandai Games]

X360 Magazine UK
A fun little brawler with an addictive and fast-flowing feel. [Issue#51, p.104]
GameFocus
If you’re a hardcore fan of side-scrolling brawlers from the NES era and you’re looking for something to scratch that nostalgic itch, definitely give Invincible Tiger a look.

Whilst Invincible Tiger looks great it really offers nothing new other than a mode that most of us cant play and with games like Turtles on Live it will soon be forgotten.

An old Style fashioned classic. A scrolling beat'em uf, funny for a few sessions, but not much worthy on the long ride.
Invincible Tiger is a stylish, fun and frantic brawler. It has no great depth to it, but enough challenges and content to keep you playing until you feel like you're in your very own 70's kung fu movie.

Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao is a gimmick game. Its most unique feature is its ability to display fancy pants 3D visuals, and the experience is indeed impressive. But take that away and you're left with a generic beat 'em up.

The visuals are fancy, but this kung fu game suffers from uninspired combat and unresponsive controls.

Maddening difficulty spikes. [Nov 2009, p.84]

A decent diversion, but far from a black belt. [Nov 2009, p.98]
Digital Chumps
Unless you’re simply dying for punishment, you’re unlikely to find anything to enjoy here.

After playing this game, it would be a real stretch for me to recommend Invincible Tiger at any XBLA price level.

Despite the appearance of finesse, it’s surprising how quickly everything devolves into frantic button mashing and rote flailing.

3D graphics may be the future, but this dull beat 'em-up is unlikely to convince you of the fact.
