Jumpers, people with a genetic anomaly that enables them to teleport themselves instantaneously to anywhere on the globe, have existed for centuries. An age-old battle rages between the Jumpers and the Paladins, a clandestine organization set on eliminating them from the planet. The Jumper game extends the film's storyline, following Griffin, a battle-hardened Jumper determined to avenge the death of his parents at the hands of the Paladins. Griffin's quest to find the killer spans exotic locales around the world. Jump Ability - Use your teleportation skills to "Jump" within hand-to-hand combat range of an enemy to start dishing out devastating blows. Combos - Exciting and intense layered combo fighting system. Finishing Moves - Instantly teleport enemies to exotic perilous locations to finish them. Enemy classes - Deeply ranked hierarchy of Paladin enemy types. Exotic Locales - 5 combat arenas set all around the world – Colosseum, Griffin's Desert Lair, Nepal, Tokyo Streets and Experimental Lab Facility. Unlockable abilities - Unlockable skills and combos through gameplay. [Brash Entertainment]

Overall, the gameplay is stale and the presentation is below average.

IGN
This is the epitomy of a movie tie-in hack job. Low production values, monotonous gameplay, and lackluster visuals make this a story you can jump past.

One of the worst games on the console.

With its incredibly short play time, lack of any reason to play through more than once, horrific camera, and just overall feeling of being rushed to the market, Jumper: Griffin's Story is unlikely to make anyone glad for the experience.

There could have been a lot of innovative aspects, but in the end, it’s too repetitive. With not challenging the gamers, Jumper’s only redeeming factor is the easy-to-earn achievement points.

Jumper is a typical movie tie in game, in that it follows the tried and trusted formula of being completely rubbish, something we all come to expect.

Planet Xbox 360
Jumper's redeeming quality is its overwhelmingly easy Achievement Points. Be warned, however, this is no Avatar; you will have to play through the game to get all of them, perhaps even twice.

It's painfully repetitive, and though you play as anti-hero Griffin, the added backstory just isn't that interesting. [May 2008, p.72]

Awful camera angles completely ruin the interesting battle system, almost non-existent and overall poor sound effects make it better played on mute and the graphics simply confuse me as to what decade it is.

Games Radar (in-house)
All signs point to Jumper: Griffin's Story being a by-the-numbers, quickly assembled cash-in, but selecting poor, early-gen original Xbox brawlers as the template was a grave mistake. Those games at least made us chuckle; Jumper only makes us wince.

Jumper fails on all fronts; animation, sound, level design, control, combat, storytelling, balancing, item management...all of it. It can also be completed in approximately two hours.

The visuals aren't just crude, they're abysmal -- plenty of PlayStation 2 games offer graphics that outclass what's on display here. And in terms of pure content, this game offers so unbelievably little -- you can trudge through the whole thing in roughly two hours -- that it's nearly incomprehensible that this sits on the same shelf (with the same asking price, no less) as "Devil May Cry 4."

There are simply no redeeming features to justify recommending Griffin's Story, even for people who are inexplicably fans of the movie.

The worst game on 360 and of this generation, Jumper's perfect only in its failure. [June 2008, p.81]

Cory M. gave it a5:
Major shortcomings on visuals, camera, and character actions, but the shortness of the game reduces the repetitiveness of the levels. On the second playthrough, increased experience makes your character super powerful--so it approaches Avatar in easy of achievement points.

Evan T gave it a1:
After seeing the overwhelmingly negative reviews for a game, you can ask yourself, in how many ways ca na game actually fail? Answer: alot. Example: Jumper: Griffin's Story. The only reason why I bought this game was because I thought people were being to hard on it's publisher, the newly formed Brash Entertainment (this was in the early days of it's release, when not too many reviews were out.), so I decided to give it a shot. Worst decision I have ever made. After I got through the first level I said to myself, a game cannot actually be this bad. I endured 1 more level, and decided to return it to the store. This game was so bad, that when I brought it back, it's price to buy was actually five dollers less than when I bought it! Long story short, this game fails on so many levels, you just might want to buy it so you could chuckle to yourself saying that your 6 month old son could make a funner game.

Gio D gave it a3:
WOW...what a pile of *#!@* this is. The ONLY redeeming factor to this pathetic rush job of a movie tie-in are the INSANELY EASY ACHIEVEMENT POINTS you get for playing it. I'm talking EASY. I'm not joking when i say that by the end of the 1ST level i already had 450 points. 450 POINTS ON THE 1ST LEVEL!!! And that level is only 10-15 minutes TOPS. As for the graphics? They can pass EASILY for a PS2/1st Generation Xbox game, the music and voice acting are YAWN INDUCING, story sucks much MUCH ass, and the controls are actually ok, didnt have a problem with them. I feel so bad for anyone who paid $60 for this, i paid $20 and let me tell you that its barely worth that much. If you want to boost your gamerscore incredibly fast then look no further, on that aspect it rates a phenominal 10, everything else...well...its pretty much sh*t on a disc.
