Console Gameworld

If you are jaded by more exciting modern games, this will definitely bore you. Otherwise, it's a great makeover of one of the classically addictive games.

Not a game you'll play for hours on end, but good fun for short amounts of time.

Games Radar (in-house)

The only possible "don’t-buy" concern in Missile Command is that, like fellow old-school, arcade quarter munchers "Robotron" and "Defender", it’s relentlessly, almost brutally difficult...You will find some nice multiplayer action though, and at five bucks, this is a no-brainer.

Official Xbox Magazine

Twenty-seven years later, the game's Live Arcade version is still stressing us out, but in good ways. [Aug 2007, p.79]

IGN

A title that stands the test of time. Despite the game's eventual tedium, it will only set players back 400 Microsoft Points (US$5), and is still a memorable experience, one that both accomplished and new missile commanders will want to experience.

There's not actually that much to do here. [Sept 2007, p.108]

Xbox World 360 Magazine UK

The 'evolved' modern mode is duff, but classic Missile Command has still got it. [Aug 2007, p.92]

Eurogamer

Cheap, cheerful, timeless fun, and ultimately short-lived - but isn't that the whole point?

Talk Xbox

With the lack of its original trackball controller, new and exciting gameplay, and only bringing in tacked-on modes, Missile Command unfortunately won’t meet expectations of ones who had fun with it nearly 30 years ago.

X360 Magazine UK

It's just a shame that the left analogue stick is no substitution for the original arcade trackball. [Issue#24, p.101]

GamerNode

It's the original version with an awful new one tacked on. This is the very definition of cash-in.

GameSpot

Missile Command on Xbox Live Arcade only serves to illustrate that an analog stick can't replace a track ball.
