How will you pay for the windmill with no space dollars? Outpost Kaloki X is the light-hearted space-station tycoon game filled with clever characters and wacky storylines, where it's your job to keep the visiting aliens happy and rake in the cash. TeamXbox
Unless comical mischief is disallowed in your household, Outpost Kaloki X is a great family game that can teach the kiddies about resource management and making (instead of spending) money at an early age.

The gameplay is relatively simple, but is entertaining and challenging at the same time.

While certainly not as in-depth as some other games in the tycoon subset of the strategy genre, Outpost Kaloki X does offer plenty of bang for its $10 price tag.

It is a welcomed change from the other Xbox Live Arcade games, and despite the difficulty of the game in later levels in has an addictive, almost municipal quality to it.

The clean graphics, quirky music and amusing characters and situations you’ll run into help keep things fresh.

The humor alone is worthy of the price, however if you are not a fan of this type of game you may want to pass.

The game’s eccentric and peculiar take on micromanagement gives Outpost Kaloki X a fresh and innovate feel that fits perfectly within Microsoft’s new loose “360” attitude, while still offering many nontraditional gamers a more conservative and cerebral experience.

A funny and challenging game that will put your space station tycoon skills to the test.

If you have a 360 and like strategy games, you need to spend the few dollars on this absolutely outstanding strategy game. Outpost Kaloki X is easy to learn and highly addictive. It's one of those games you'll come back to after the luster of the new Xbox 360 games pass.

A space-station--building sim? It's not for everyone, but it's a hoot. [Jun 2006, p.64]

Plenty of strategic meat on its 3D bone. [Issue#5, p.120]
Eurogamer
It probably won't occupy you for more than a few evenings of play, but you'll enjoy them.

While there's no online play, OKX is definitely an entertaining and surprisingly deep experience. For anyone looking for a quirky, unique XBLA experience, it's worth it to shell out the MPs to drop this onto your hard drive.

Decent 3D graphics and a breezy soundtrack accentuate the game's tone, and there are plenty of different scenarios to keep you coming back, though the underlying gameplay gets to be pretty predictable after a while.

A simple economic strategy game with plenty of pick-up-and-play appeal. It isn’t all that complex, but it’s enjoyable in short bursts and offers plenty of reasons to return from time to time.

Fast-paced and often challenging, Outpost Kaloki X is one of the few Xbox Live Arcade titles that actually makes you earn your Achievements.

Outpost Kaloki X features a lot of depth and offers some challenging play for fans of strategy games. Shame there’s no Live multiplayer though.

This is a shame, because a management game is a good idea for Live Arcade, which is currently filled with puzzle titles and coin-ops. But Outpost Kaloki X just doesn't have the qualities of Rollercoaster Tycoon - it never feels like you are in charge.

LunarDuality gave it an8:
A game that doesn't get as much love as it deserves. I fun pick up and play game that also has a deeper strategy as you strive for faster and faster completion times. And Ninja Bee keeps the downloads coming. Some are even free!
Vlsi0n na gave it a9:
Very fun game and has a increasing amount of downloadable content being offered. Worth the buy if you like tycoon / strat games.
