Summary
[Playable on the Xbox and Xbox 360. Available only at Burger King Restaurants from Nov. 19 through Dec. 24, 2006 for $3.99 and the purchase of a BK Value Meal.] Welcome to the wild world of Pocketbike racing where players race the King and his miniature motorbike crew through five fun, yet challenging speedways. Each track varies in level of difficulty and players navigate long straights, tight bends and sharp turns at high speeds while attempting to earn enhancements and tools that they can use to gain an advantage over opponents. Featuring HAVE IT YOUR WAY customization options, players select a bike and a driver and then hit the track of their choice of a BURGER KING restaurant parking lot, a construction site, a backyard, the King's garden or the fabled Fantasy Ranch set. In addition to individual play, four players can race against each other in classic split-screen set-up or eight players can battle it out online using XBOX Live. [King Games]

Pocketbike Racer is in no way the next coming of kart racers, but as a wallet-friendly arcade game it more than serves its role as an amusing piece of gaming software for the casual audience.

While the online play is a mess, the offline content is definitely worth a run-through, as well as the $3.99 price tag.

The stop-and-go action, the occasional jumps, and the sheer ridiculousness of what you're taking part in lends every race a manic aspect that elicits more giggles than groans. [Holiday 2006, p.78]

This game is a great value and can be a lot of fun-- online or at home. It's hard to mess up this genre as long as the controls are decent-- which they are.

Despite the limited number of tracks, the combination of different game modes and difficulty ratings make PocketBike Racer entertaining when it's taken for what it is - an unashamed Mario Kart clone intended to advertise Burger King.

It gets stale fairly quickly, but Pocketbike Racer does very well for what it is.

The online mode in PocketBike Racer is fantastic...when it works. If you can get through random crashes and dropped games, the title has a nice, robust, eight-player online mode.

Unfortunately, once you remove the lovable Nintendo characters from the formula and replace them with soulless agents of advertising, you've lost most of the appeal. You're left with a slightly disturbing and shameful mockery of what was once a cherished wholesome media icon; sort of like Michael Jackson.

The game is just so generic and doesn't even manage to use the Burger King license to its utmost to get some humor in there. Unless you have to have all three Burger King games, you can skip out on this one.

Pocketbike Racing is a failed racing game that could have been a good one. If missed potential is worth $4 to you, by all means go for it.

Battle royale effectively spruces up an otherwise dull game, but even this mode isn’t an ultimate savior.

Deunnero gave it an8:
I played the hell out of this game for about 2 weeks. Fun little game for when friends come over and you can't beat the 5$ price tag. Hope more "branded-ad" games come out in the future.
Pablo G. gave it an8:
Very good game for the price. 4 modes of play, online and offline multiplayer, lots of achievements, and decent fun. Remember, you get what you payed for. This isn't a $60 game, it's $4 and well worth it.
Mike G. gave it a10:
The only bad thing about this game is that it ends but the online multiplayer almost makes up for it woo hoo.
Bryan M. gave it a5:
it is one of the best chep game i have ever seen. it is way better then sneak king. it must have been made for toddlers. anywhy this is a game to get with big bumping.
Chip H. gave it an8:
I was expecting crap but what I got was a decent playable game. I enjoyed playing pocketbike racer quite a bit.
James A. gave it a7:
The best BK game. This game is super silly but nothing else. The racing is ok and the same with the tracks. Brook Burke is in this game. Pocket Bike Racer is defently worth the few bucks you payed to get it.
Mr. Review gave it a7:
The funny and oddly ironic association with Pocketbike Racer is the simple fact that it is a legitimately fun game. pocketbike offers a few ludicrous playable characters, featuring a whopper, the King himself, and showcasing the amazing racing talents of Brook Burke; in all her mediocre glory. five reasonably interesting courses, ranging from a construction building to a King's garden, cover the whole of Pocketbike. The online play is a fun addition as well, and quite warming and approachable. In short, pocketbike racing is fun, and though it cannot rival the likes of many in its genre, it is still entirely enjoyable. PBR is worth owning, and you have another month to obtain the greatest deal next to the Lousiana Purchase.
