Little defects keep this game from being a real masterpiece, but we consider it amongst the best in its genre. Highly advised if you're fans of the Superbike championship: the many customization options will allow you to perfectly fit it to your tastes like a racing leather suit.

Milestone has achieved what many didn't believe: to exceed the previous title in the franchise and moreover focus the game to be approachable by any kind of player (from simulation to arcade) and enhance some lacking aspects of the last game (graphics and tuning options).

The developer has certainly listened to the critics from SBK 08 and made the improvements that were drastically needed. Underneath the engine is a comprehensive motorbike simulation that appeals to both beginners and experts.

SBK09 is a full motorcycle simulation, with every physical detail made to perfection. However, this kind of game is only for bike-maniacs, because the others may find this title a little frustrating if played at advanced or simulation levels. The Italian team Milestone did a great job, for everyone who have fuel in their veins and a four-stroke engine in their hearts.

If you like the Superbike WM, you won’t go away from SBK09. It’s simulation with good handling and all of the popular drivers and tracks from the actual season.

Milestone's game offers you a solid and customizable gameplay, but with very few enhancements from last year's edition. This is not a bad thing in itself, but this set the mood for a game really suited to the most hardcore SBK's Fans. The ones who never played, should give it a go, mainly for the high numbers of options you'll been given while playing.

SBK-09 is a good looking gaming. The race feeling is realistic, there are a lot of bikes and drivers to choose for and all the official circuits are available. The flaw of the game is the lack of modes. This is the reason that the game is getting boring over time and that SBK-09 is only interesting for real racing fans.

Impressive - as long as you don't expect a massive evolution of last year's game. [Sept 2009, p.89]
XGN
Everything this game needs is there, all the teams and drivers are complete and even the umbrella girls are included. However, SBK 09 is far too complex, which makes it hard to just start a simple race. But because the game has this much details, it's a awesome game for the motorbike fans.

SBK 09, and the whole superbike series for that matter, is a game that relies on the player’s interest, patience, and effort.

All SBK games are equal, but some more so the others. They’re the cheaper ones.

Fun to play, best choice for a real rider. But with huge tech problems, not refined and with a crappy online.

A very stripped-down motorbike sim. [July 2009, p.93]
WonderwallWeb
A realistic enough racer, its just a pity that its no real fun to play.

SBK: 09 is a flavourless affair with a personality like an R&B’ing Joaquin Phoenix.
