With its organic controls, beautiful visuals and amazing presentation, it quickly becomes an addicting experience that's tough to stop playing, even during some of the most frustrating parts of the game. Though its online modes slightly tarnish on the experience, the rest of the game more than makes up for it.

The world of San Vanelona is incredibly detailed, with lots of graffiti and markings on every surface. You also get the feel for realistic skating action, as every move you make is tied in nicely with the audio and controller vibration, such as when you skate over a cobblestone street or a brick pedestrian crosswalk.

Even though Skate is swimming with atmosphere and features, it's the gameplay that stands out in this gem. It's not trying to compete with "Tony Hawk" -- it's trying to do its own thing. As such, old Tony Hawk fans looking for a more authentic challenge will love this game. While some challenges will be frustrating, that's just how skating is, and EA did a wonderful job re-creating the atmosphere and style of the sport in game form.

Uhh!! How can you people stand this game? It's a good gamebut the view ruins it. Every second when I speed up I get this foot in front of my screen!! Also, you're riding along then all of a sudden you hit this car you don't see! I gave it a 6 because it has a great storyline, good graphics, and lots of realism. The view just ruins the game though.

Easily the best skateboarding game you can buy out at the moment, beating the long-standing Tony Hawk franchise hands down. A somewhat realistic look into the world of skateboarding and the ability to skate around a living, breathing metropolis lets your skateboarding imagination run wild. You can get annoyed at some control/tricks as the controls are specfic and some skateboarding styles have been left out from the game (Flatland, anyone?) and some bugs need ironing out, but a lot better than what the Tony Hawk games have been. Comes with Online capabilities and the ability to add your own short Skate videos and pictures to the internet. Worth looking into.

This game is absolutely stunning! It clearly blows THPG out of the water with grater graphics and real life tricks unlike THPG where you can 540 flip a 35 set, as with all skating games stalling is an issue.

I skateboard in real life and this is much closer to skateboarding than Tony Hawk. After 8 years of TH im a little tired of bs missiongs like grinding a lamp pole wire for 100 yards and doing one impossible trick after another you forget that its a skateboarding game. if you land a good trick in skate you have a sense of accomplishment rather than scoring 100,000 points in an impossible combo without breaking a sweat. Nick D. Id say the exact opposite for you, you cant handle something even close to skateboarding so stick to buttonmashing.

Dude...this aint tony hawk...this is real deal skate heaven in the form of a cd. the people who actually skated in real life, such as myself will tell you that this is almost as fun as skating itself. the giant city you can explore should be enough to get a high rank, not to mention you can do tricks on every possible thing...rag-doll bails rock. must buy.
