Console Gameworld
A solid collection of 18 card games. It does not go overboard with extra features that don’t belong in a card game, yet it has a surprising amount of content.

For 800 Microsoft Points (or about $10), it’s a nice diversion when you need a change of pace. Just don’t expect a lot of bells and whistles, and you’ll have some fun if you play your cards right.

A good title marketed to the wrong crowd. I can see installing this game on my work PC, but am I really going to play it on my Xbox 360?

There's no denying that, well, this is Solitaire. And while there are a lot of different variations on offer here, you need to really love these types of family games to get your money's worth out of Soltrio.

Part of me wants to recommend Soltrio Solitaire because it does offer 16 unique variations of the popular game, makes an attempt at online play, and comes with 200 built-in Achievement Points. But the shoddy controls, irritating music, and dull gameplay are sure to turn off a majority of seasoned gamers.

Soltrio Solitaire can only really be recommended to those who really enjoy the card game and simply have to play it on their Xbox 360. For everyone else there’s just not enough here that’s different or exciting enough to warrant buying and downloading the game.

But with wonky, counterintuitive controls and nothing really new or compelling to add, Soltrio Solitaire doesn't give you a good reason to spend your solitaire time or money in the Arcade. [July 2007, p.79]
X360 Magazine UK
A classic waste of time, in more than one sense. [Issue#23, p.96]
IGN
Soltrio Solitaire is a rip off. It's that simple. It's overpriced and it under-delivers.

Soltrio Solitaire is a solitaire game that costs $10. Yes, solitaire. You know, that game that comes free with every Windows PC ever made? The single-player card game that is so easy to obtain for free on the Internet that it might as well be falling out of the sky? Right. This is that, except it's on Xbox Live Arcade, and it's 10 bucks. Does anyone see anything wrong with this picture?

Plenty of modes, but still overpriced. [Aug 2007, p.100]

Robert N. gave it an8:
I don't know what the professional reviewers were expecting from a Solitaire game. If you enjoy playing Solitaire, you'll love this game. If ou don't, you won't. The reason the publisher is charging $10 for this game is simple. Know of any other Solitaire games you can play on the 360?
Anth B. gave it a2:
Sorry. Worst purchase Ive made on XBLA so far. Not much replay value and some of the achievements are insanely hard. One of them requires you to beat a game of Solitare in under a minute. This basically means you have to spam buttons blindly hoping you have a clearable board that you can finish with nothing but luck. Gameplay is bland and the controls are not very well done. Instructions for most unfamiliar games are HORRIBLE leaving you to learn a game entirely on your own, or in some cases, never learning them. Buy Pac Man Championship or Root Beer Tapper instead.
Nick G. gave it a9:
I didn't think I'd care for this game, but it's surprisingly well done and easy to control. And it's addictive once you learn the games.
Andyman gave it an8:
If you like solitaire, you'll find a LOT to like in Soltrio Solitaire. It's a very nicely crafted collection, and the online play works very well. The Achievements range from easy to very difficult and will keep you coming back time and again.
