The bottom line, if you’re looking to get Tetris on a console, you should grab Tetris Splash. At 10 dollars you’re getting the same kick ass core gameplay Tetris has offered for over 20 years, you’re also getting all the great online features that Live offers. I think it’s worth it even if the premium content isn’t.

Tetris is Tetris. Nothing new, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. If updated graphics and a unique aquarium screensaver are enough to make you spend ten bucks, then by all means, go for it.

Tetris Splash doesn’t bring anything exciting or more enjoyable to the table of Tetris. Unless you’re feeling extremely nostalgic or wanting to add an additional 200 achievement points to your gamer score, I suggest you pass this one by.

Tetris Splash gets one point for being Tetris, one point for at least having an online mode and one point for being relatively cheap (assuming you don't bother with the DLC). But it loses points for ugly background graphics, the obligatory ghost block, the bad pacing, the expensive add-ons, the limited multiplayer options and having no sharks.

A stripped-down version of Tetris with only two single-player modes and an overreliance upon paying for fish and other aquarium set-pieces is somewhat redeemed by online multiplayer. BONUS: Features a screensaver of your aquarium thus far. That's not really much of a bonus, on second thought.

A great, very worthy tetris game, leagues above Tetris evolution for 360. Tetris splash is what tetris evolution should have been. Peices can fall as fast as you can handle them, gameplay is quick, and online play is well planned and to the point. Matchmaking is simple and easy to get into, and scoring in this game is logical, providing reward for well-planned plays. Nevermind the hoopla about the extra content. Casual players will love the simplicity and the ability to add to the fish-tank-screen-saver dealio, and hardcore tetris fans will appreciate the tournament-level gameplay styling. One of my only regrets is that there isn't a built in tournament system. Sure, there is lots of downloadable content that may detract you, but the game is in no way incomplete with the base download. All of the extra downloadable content is related to aesthetic features, such as themes for your fishtank screensaver and the fish themselves. Its actually a cool side feature I appreciate. I have no problem calling Tetris splash the best tetris you can find on home consoles, but note that I do not consider the DS to be a 'home console'.
