Summary
On the Xbox 360, Warhammer: Battle March includes the original content from Warhammer: Mark of Chaos as well as all-new features, intuitive control schemes and support for online play via the Xbox LIVE. Thrusting players into Games Workshop's renowned fantasy world, players control six unique armies – the Empire, Chaos, Skaven, High Elves as well as the all-new Dark Elf and Orcs & Goblins forces – as they battle for supremacy in a world torn apart by constant warfare. The individual units of each army can be customized in great detail, allowing players to put their own mark on their fighting force and strike fear into their opponents with terrifying combinations of weaponry and armor. Players can also control Heroes and Champions for each army, high-powered units that gain new abilities as they tear through the opposition. Placing the focus of gameplay on combat and tactics rather than tedious resource management, Warhammer: Battle March on the Xbox 360 features two control schemes for both master battlefield tacticians and novice warriors that offer full control over all aspects of the player’s army. On Xbox LIVE, up to four players can engage in massive multi-army clashes in head-to-head and team-based modes of play. [Namco Bandai Games]

With a substantial campaign mode, excellent online and a great customization aspect Namco Bandai's latest is one of the better attempts at the genre on a console.

If you’re a battle-strategy addict, prepare to not leave the house for a week. If you’re a graphics whore, though, you’ll probably chuck.

If you enjoy Warhammer this is a keeper, it is true to the series and should keep any fan happy. Be warned though the game does require your time to get the most from it.

Creating your own army, and then constantly improving it with the spoils of skirmishes against live foes, is what will keep players coming back for more. With a more streamlined control system, and some tidier graphics, Battle March could be one of the best console strategy games. As it stands, it's strictly for the hardcore.

A simple and solid RTS sadly hindered by the control system. [Dec 2008, p.85]
Vandal Online
In PC, this is and interesting buy, but this Xbox 360 adaptation is an example of how not to do things in gameplay. The control system is too complicated and prevents the players from thoroughly enjoying the battles.

Only those who have invested in the Warhammer world can really overlook its flaws as an RTS. [Dec 2008, p.82]
Kombo
What works is that there isn't any resource collecting and you are free to pursue your warpath just don't expect to get pulled in by the rather sleepy story.

A strategy romp that's as much hit as it is miss. [Nov 2008, p.84]
Xbox360Achievements
Battle March has great unit diversity and possesses a fun, strategic battle system where the life and death of each unit really matters in a way few RTS games can match. Unfortunately, this fun is buried under long load times, tiny text, dated graphics, and such a poor control scheme that this game is hard to recommend.

If you’re a Warhammer fan looking for some strategy action and you have a PC, stick with the mouse and keyboard version of Warhammer: Battle March. The controls are easier, the game looks and runs better, and there’s a larger community of gamers playing online.

Marred by the controls, Warhammer: Battle March could’ve been something truly impressive with how upbeat the battles are. But in the end, it turns out that Battle March is much more of a wallflower than the prom king at the big dance.

The audio portion contains pitiful voice-acting and sound effects while having a great soundtrack. Yeah, it’s easy to notice that Warhammer is a mixed bag.

Battle March continues working the Warhammer saga, this time in Xbox 360. A more tactical than strategic videogame that nevertheless fails in the most important fact of this kind of genre: The control of our troops.

Like the majority of ports of strategy games to the consoles, I'd stay clear of this title like the deadly measles virus.

That simplicity is also its biggest problem--pointing and clicking requires little strategy, so rather than always playing, you'll be watching dudes fight. Yawn. [Dec 2008, p.73]
GameSpot
This real-time strategy game's convoluted controls make it hard to play, much less enjoy.

If you wanted quick summation of Battle March experience it would be that it's more work than fun, which is fine if you're into that kind of sadomasochism or you're a Warhammer fan without a PC.

Even if Warhammer: Battle March had a good control scheme, it would still be a boring strategy game at best.

Only the most experienced real-time strategy players will be able to make sense of it, much less enjoy it.

Warhammer Battle March is in nothing a serious competitor in the RTS genre. Complicated controls, dull graphics and monotonous missions make the game almost unplayable. With Red Alert 3 and EndWar approaching fast there is no real good reason to buy battle March if you want to play a RTS on your console. Even the Warhammer fans are better off with Dawn of War II. Don't say we didn't warn you.

While the controls aren't as big a deal on the PC, the spotty AI, poor pacing, and lack of depth doom both versions. [Nov 2008, p.118]
Extreme Gamer
Warhammer: Battle March alienates mainstream gamers with its unfriendly mission structure, drab graphics and confusing control scheme.

The basics for a great rendition of Warhammer are there, but they’re buried too deeply in the mire of frustration to be appreciated.

The graphics are OK for a real-time strategy game and Jeremy Soule's musical score is outstanding, but that's not enough to salvage this mess.
This sort of do-nothing port is only going to alienate players and further reinforce the stereotype that the genre simply doesn't work on console systems.
Read Full Review >Video Game Talk
”Warhammer: Battle March” doesn’t come close to being an enjoyable game. The core game play while basic is too repetitive, and the wonky controls will test your patience quickly.

Waaaagghhhh ! gave it a7:
Decent game so far.... difficult control scheme but it's becoming much more intuitive. If you're a Warhammer fan it's definitely worth a look.
