A few hiccups keeps this title from being perfect but SmackDown Vs. Raw 2010 is everything a fan could want in a wrestling game and more.

The addition of the Divas, the upgrades to the Royal Rumble, and being able to share all your custom creations with the rest of the gaming world take this from being a really good title to making it a really great title.

SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 easily represents the biggest leap forward for the series. While previous entries certainly piled on the match types and character rosters, the new creation aspects of SvR 2010 make it the best and most immersive WWE video game experience to date.

Absolutely worth picking up if you're a wrestling fan, and definitely a big step in the right direction for the series.

Those who are in the market for a new WWE game will delight in the raft of innovations, which dispel the myth that Smackdown is a gaming franchise that stood still. [Nov 2009, p.72]

With the long-overdue additions of a story-creation mode and an online community, SvR2010 is a massive step forward for the series’ already-rich feature set, while still continuing the steady improvement of its in-ring fundamentals.

All we can say is WOW; how ever did Yuke’s and THQ manage to squeeze so much into a title with just under a year of development time? Other developers should definitely take notice; just because there isn’t another top notch game in the same genre, doesn’t mean that you can’t push the envelope.

It doesn't reinvent the wheel with new gameplay mechanics or revamped graphics, but WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 excels once again as the definitive pro wrestling game on the market. Fans of the series and pro wrestling alike should definitely put it in their queues. [Dec 2009, p.77]
GameFocus
Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 is the definitive wrestling title of this generation, so far. This is what WWE fans have wanted for near a decade now, and THQ and Yukes have delivered far beyond the usual yearly updates. A must have for anyone with even a passing interest in the world of WWE.

WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 is the best iteration in the series in years. The franchise manages to be focused not only on hardcore wrestling fans but on a more generic community too.

The level of detail, the foresight that went into planning the Story Designer and character creator, the Training Facility to catch newbies up to speed without dumbing the game down for franchise vets...the title really has it all.

Aside from some lingering issues with the gameplay and horrendous online issues, it’s a well-crafted game that should satisfy fans of the series, and bring back those who have lost faith in it in the past.

The gameplay tweaks are welcome and make the experience feel fresh, the presentation is straight from TV, the load times are better than ever, the Road to WrestleMania is still great, you can create your own logos, and the ability to share your stories and characters is invaluable...WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 might not be the greatest wrestling game of all time, but it’s definitely the best the world’s seen in years.

WWE SmackDown vs. RAW 2010 is a solid and well made game, capable of delivering hours of entertainment to all the fans of this sport. It isn't the best in the series and the splendour of Here Comes the Pain is still far away, however we consider it the best Wrestling game this generation.

Those who found UFC 2009: Undisputed (also developed by Yuke’s) a little too complex, or EA’s Fight Night Round 4 too tedious, should put their self-consciousness aside. There’s no shame in playing a wrestling videogame.

These fans are the ones that will appreciate the little changes the most, but SmackDown vs. RAW 2010 is a solid title whether you have a closet full of Austin 3:16 shirts or just catch the occasional episode of RAW. [Nov 2009, p.97]

This year edition is once again a good fighting game, with lots of personalization and depth in combat. Graphics are getting really old though, and there's yet a lot to be accomplished from the dev team.

Another strong entry in the series, but one that does not bring enough fresh ideas to the table to truly make it stand out. Sure you can make your own story, but the controls and plots are fiddly to manage. For wrestling fans this is a sure fire purchase, but for the rest of us, it is a fun fighting game at best.

Overall, WWE Smackdown vs. RAW 2010 is a great wrestling game. The gameplay is more of the same, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it’s all of the new creation tools that really make the game shine.

THQ has done a good job gearing up the franchise for the future with the inclusion of downloadable user-created content. Downloading storylines that involve the G.I. Joe villain, Cobra Commander, buying the WWE from Vince McMahon should be one of the game’s selling points plastered on front of the retail box.

The collision detection seems off sometimes and the game isn’t exactly an example of original gameplay, but this is the game you need to buy if you want to get to know the WWE-franchise. Smackdown vs. Raw can be played by anyone thanks to the simple gameplay and is also a looker. The game is also filled with different modes and options to make your own content to share it with friends online.

Combines last year's excellent gameplay with a collection of features that should last the entire year. [Issue#51, p.72]

Easily the best game in the series to date, and a must-buy for WWE fans - especially if you've been giving it a wide-berth for a few years. The controls are refined, the game modes are plentiful, the presentation is top class and the customisation features will excite the little kid in WWE fans the world over.

Though it still suffers from some of the nagging problems that have plagued the series for years, the game does a great job giving hardcore fans what they crave while still being accessible to the casual player. This year’s game is an enjoyable sports entertainment experience, even if it just feels like a new coat of paint at times.

Feels a bit like an expansion pack. But it's a big expansion pack that you can completely vanish into and emerge a couple of weekends later feeling like you got your money's worth. [Dec 2009, p.74]

The enhanced character models, lightning-fast loading times, authentic WWE presentation, reconfigured match types, better CAW stat-building, the new Story Designer, and the online upload/download server mean that most fans of the franchise will clothesline anyone who gets in their way to the register. But just as many fans will be disappointed by the CAW point system, CAW restrictions in Story Designer and as downloadable characters, gender restrictions, the ho-hum Career mode, and the polished but still linear Road to Wrestlemania.

If you're a fan of wrestling, you'll doubtless enjoy the game on a further level, but if not, it still makes a fun distraction from the class-a titles. It is an acquired taste though, so if you're not sure, this is definitely one to rent first.

WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 is an impressive new direction for the franchise, as it features a way for players to become directly involved with the other side of professional wrestling: the storylines. Sadly, I've been unable to find a playable match online, thanks to severe latency issues.

WWE SmackDown! vs. RAW 2010 doesn't fix any of the fundamental issues that the series has had for years, and as this style of gameplay gets another year older, it looks that much more dated.

So beyond the handful of menu options with flashing "NEW!" logos next to them, and the potential of the Story Designer to deliver some hilarious content, Smackdown vs. RAW 2010 doesn't do a great deal to progress the series. The sweat isn't even noticeably shinier.

This is the best smackdown v.s. raw game that thq has came out with by far the best.
Dnaiel J gave it a9:
pretty much the bes wwe game i have seen in years. All the new add ons make it great. But it does fall short in some areas. The restriction of created superstars in story designer. and the create a superstar points only letting you have a limited amount of clothing. But overall great game.
shaun m gave it a10:
this svr10 is by far the best yet the new training options and create a story are awesome editions to the game and the overall feel this time really adds to the enjoyment of a great package its a must by for fans of the wrestling genre and even ufc games.
Bryan W gave it a10:
The best game in the series yet. Eleven games strong and Yuke's and THQ are still doing the damn thing! A must buy for any fan of professional wrestling.
Critty S. gave it a10:
I have been playing smackdown vs. raw since the first one in 2004. I have been playing wrestling games since Royal Rumble on the SNES in 1993. THIS, is...without a doubt, the BEST wrestling game I have ever played hands down. Besides the match types, the awesome graphics, the phenomonal gameplay and all of the game modes...the customization and options in this game are ENDLESS!!! You can literally edit a created video highlight for 2 hours and have a blast doing it, and wonder...where did the time go? If you like wrestling, this is a must have!
