Summary

Take to the streets of Chicago as one of Al Capone’s notorious Enforcers. Choose from the wide range of authentic gangster weapons and make your opposition an offer they can’t refuse. The strait forward storyline will engulf you in fast paced, heavy action sequences were the choice of weapon and ability to maneuver will certainly make the difference. If the missions aren’t enough try your luck at the 8 player Xbox Live Death-match and Team Death-match modes. This classic 1st person shooter is sure to impress with its smooth game play and limitless features. Missions include numerous side objectives that allow player to collect cash and unlock special bonuses. Immense replay value, Xbox Live features 8 player matches that take place on 6-8 custom levels. Extensive selection of weapons from a lead pipe to the ever impressive Tommy gun and BAR rifle. Specialty weapons are also available such as Molotov cocktails and the Browning 30-06 sniper rifle. BonusStage

With both feet planted firmly in the "So it’s not perfect, but it sure is fun" box, Chicago Enforcer manages to be a well done bit of FPS goodness for a nice, cheap price. As long as you set your expectations to a reasonable level, you’ll have a good time with this one.

TeamXbox

The game is fun to play for a bit, but the flaws of the gameplay and the repetition creep up faster than Capone’s top enforcer in a dark alley, delivering the most lethal blow to the game’s bottom line.

Xbox Nation Magazine

The game is riddled with more holes than poor Loose Lips Larry. [Feb 2005, p.89]

IGN

Any fun that could be squeezed out of this poorly designed title is negated by long loading times and unbalanced game mechanics.

Cheat Code Central

Fails on so many levels. It looks bad, the control system suffers from lag and ineffective weapon designs, the AI is incredibly unbalanced and the missions are a repetitive mix of elements.

GameSpot

It truly manages to re-create what it must be like to be on the wrong end of a mob shakedown, because by the end of the experience, you'll pretty much feel like you've had your head caved in with a lead pipe.

Xbox Evolved

A terrible game. If for some reason you actually decide to go and pay $20 for this very poor excuse of a first person shooter, then expect to find: a weak and very uninteresting story, the absolute worst gameplay ever on the Xbox, repetitive textures and bland colors, and a very poor sound scheme.

It sucks in a vomitous, spirit-crushing kind of way. [March 2005, p.137]

Keenan S gave it a1:
This game was utterly horrible, and is the worst Xbox game I've ever played. And this is a review coming from a person who played Drake to completion! I also played this game to completion as well, only it was much worse and it makes Drake look like Max Payne in comparison. The graphics look God-awful, there is no music to speak of, the controls are half-way decent but that doesn't make up for the horrible hit detection, switching between weapons is a pain in the ass, horrific 45-90 second load times, a craptastic storyline, and more ruin what could have been an awesome mafia FPS.

Game Freak gave it a10:
This game sounds like it will be fun. I will buy because I like FPS.
