Summary
When assassins from Agent 47's contract agency, The ICA, are systematically eliminated in a series of hits, it seems a larger, more powerful agency has entered the fray. For Agent 47 it's business as usual, until suddenly he loses contact with The ICA. Sensing that he may be the next target, he travels to America, where he prepares to make a killing. Agent 47 is back and this time he's paid in cold, hard cash. How the money is spent will affect his passage through the game and the weapons at his disposal, resulting in a unique gameplay experience for each player. Powered by a new version of Io's stunning Glacier engine, Hitman: Blood Money delivers the most brutal and realistic simulation of life as the world's deadliest assassin. [Eidos Interactive]

An epic experience from beginning to end, filled with dark humour, lots of action and most importantly the perfect blend of engrossing story and engaging gameplay. Throw in some sumptuous visuals and atmospheric sounds and you've got one of the best games of 2006 so far.

Hitman: Blood Money is an extremely solid title, with small problems here and there. If you’re looking for a game where obsessive-compulsive tendencies and people watching is valued over hide and seek gameplay, you really can’t go wrong with Blood Money—but just don’t expect it to be an easy ride.

All in all, the game features enough choices and entertaining kills to have you playing some missions more than once, striving for that elusive Silent Assassin rating.

The open, expansive world of Hitman is certainly what makes this game an enjoyable experience. There's a good mix of stealth and action, and your enemies are smart enough to give you a challenge to the very end.

If you're a Hitman fan, Blood Money will make you fall in love all over again, and if you never dipped your toes in 47's particular brand of wetwork yet, the time has never been more ripe. [June 2006, p.74]

Hitman: Blood Money for Xbox might not be a revolutionary step into new territory but it’s still a wickedly enjoyable romp that is sure to please longtime fans of the series.

The gameplay gives you plenty of choices regarding progressing through a stage, and it looks good while you do so. It would've been very easy to churn out another boring murderfest, but instead we get a thinking man's game. Good showing.

Hitman: Blood Money is an enjoyable sequel that doesn’t take too many risks in regards to changes to its now successful formula. So fans who were content with most of Agent 47s methods should be happy. For those neophytes out there considering some experience with murder-for-hire, you will find getting Blood Money to be very rewarding.

Played in the spirit in which it is intended, Hitman: Blood Money proves that even in the series' fourth installment it still has the means to impress with its gameplay, freedom of exploration and high production values. Although there are still one or two little annoyances, there's no doubting that there's more than enough here to satisfy even the most experienced of contracted killers.

Though very similar to the last two games in the series, the open-ended stealth action gameplay offered by Hitman: Blood Money is still just about as tensely exciting as ever. A few new twists to the formula, an intriguing story, and a memorably diverse, cinematic sequence of missions further make Blood Money worth it.

A lot of people were disappointed with the last Hitman game. This one's better. Not by much, but it's more user-friendly, has had a slight visual upgrade and the plot and game settings are a big improvement over the lacklustre "Contracts." [June 2006, p.52]
Next Level Gaming
It's overall a solid title with a couple little glitchy AI issues that don't take too much away from things.

This is by far the finest Hitman yet. The level design is superb, the enemy AI is decent, and the story is suitably entertaining, which all captures the feeling of being a cold-blooded killer wonderfully. [July 2006, p.120]
WHAM! Gaming
There's nothing radically new here, but it's got the best variety of missions and the best storyline of any of the Hitman titles.

All 13 of the game's missions are well crafted and challenging, but after four iterations of this series, I felt a need for a new challenge.

There is a little more accessibility on all fronts, controls, AI behavior, and combat. The level design is consistently good, and each new level requires a smart, logical approach to beat it.

Though all the elements are familiar, IO has polished them up and the end result is like a favorite dish: You know what it tastes like, but you're still looking forward to eating it.

Depth way beyond that of any other action game released this year, sleek presentation and some of the best levels ever created in a video game.

While the A.I. could use some improvement (one guard spots you, and they all suddenly know where you are), it's the save system that totally knocks a point off for me. [June 2006, p.112]
Game Informer
While there's a lot to love about this series, and this entry in particular, Agent 47's world still foesn't offer the subtlety necessary for this great premise to really be satisfying. [June 2006, p.110]
TeamXbox
The game’s basic concept, and IO’s commitment to give gamers a multiple paths to an ending while still pushing for “transparency” should be applauded. But a two year 47 hiatus and no real signs of an inventory system or A.I. improvement hurts like a 7.62mm round to the spleen.

Blood Money feels only slightly closer to the series’ ideal of a gameworld that’s both complex and cogent, and is more accessible and entertaining with it. [July 2006, p.80]
Play Magazine
With Eidos' latest foray into professional assassination, players will have to dig deep, wading through mission after mission of trial-and-error gameplay to hunt down a series of targets. [June 2006, p.49]
Armchair Empire
Once you become intimately familiar with the levels, Hitman becomes a lot of fun, and the game is practically made for infinite replayability. The problem is, getting to that point is so messy that it’s more confusing than fun.

Maybe the best game I've ever played, it's fun addicting and awesome, even after you beat the game you feel like beating it 50 more times!
Oliver S. gave it a10:
Hitman's blood money is the best installments in the series thues far, it has unprecedented amounts of fredom, your able to approach each level in almost limetless ways. Its' a viscarel satisfying experience that you simple must play.
Roman T. gave it a9:
I kind of have some mixed feelings about this game. I don't think Blood Money was quite as good as Hitman 2, but it was not bad either. The story was interesting and the surprise ending was done pretty nicely. Graphics, sound, gameplay are all there and give this game greate look and feel. Missions were pretty interesting too, for most part. Some where too short, I thought. All locations are quite memorable too. I only wish this game was somewhat longer. With only 13 missions I finished it in 2 days. Hitman 2 had like a whopping 22, now that was awesome. Still, Hitman Blood Money is a great game that definitely deserves recognition.
Richard H. gave it a9:
Hitman: Blood Money is the best addition to the Hitman games. The levels are incredibly diverse, from a quiet suburb to the White House, even to retribution at your own funeral, it offers so much. The game is instantly replayable, with Silent Assassin ratings drawing you back into 47's world. The deaths are well laid out, and sometimes elaborate, with various methods of killing ypour target, meaning the levels are never the same. Hitman: Blood Money is a reinvigorating addition to the genre.
LJ S. gave it a10:
The hottest hitman game to date.
Martin A. gave it a9:
Never have i been so immersed in a Hitman game - Whilst the franchise has always had a unique gameplay - it's the storyline of Blood Money that will keep you interested. The controls have been widely improoved and performing various actions now feels streamlined and "right". The graphics too are quite impressive - even with todays standards. But as said, it's the storyline that will keep you comming back to this game... Over a series of extremely well designed assasinations a story of betrayal and plot unfolds in front of you - untill Mr. 47 must face an enemy that will stop at nothing to kill him. Does he make a slick escape? Will he attack this enemy? Or will he die trying? You'll have to play the game to find out.
