Summary
The first karaoke video game for the Xbox to include a vocal analyzer that measures the pitch and rhythm of a player's voice, Karaoke Revolution will feature more than 45 songs, including chart-topping hits like "Billie Jean", "Like a Virgin", and "Celebration", as well as 10 classic Motown hits from the original artists' recordings -- exclusive to the Xbox. Gamers can also download new music and create friends lists via Xbox Live support. Thanks to adjustable difficulty levels, gamers of all ages and levels of ability can sing along with Karaoke Revolution's catalog of more than 45 songs, including karaoke favorites, rock, pop, dance and R&B songs made popular by such artists as R.E.M, Avril Lavigne, Nickelback, Barenaked Ladies, and Michelle Branch, as well as original Motown recordings. Adding to the excitement will be dynamic in-game crowds that react in real-time to a player's performance, getting on their feet and cheering to a well-sung tune or booing at a cascade of sour notes. It’s nice that the judging criteria can be adjusted to fit the vocal range (or lack thereof) of any player and with downloadable song packs, chances are there is something to please everyone.

It is a bit of a shock to return to the franchise’s roots after all the improvements that have been made across two sequels in the past year, but the addition of Live support may render many of these complaints moot within the next few months.

I do wish they would have made the game similar to the brand new PS2 game with all it's new game modes instead of a simple port of the past games. But this is a start, and the addition of downloading new songs so the game doesn't get old is a pretty good thing.

A cool piece of technology, and it definitely has the potential to be a lot of fun, especially in a crowd setting. If you're a fan of karaoke, or think that enough of the songs on the disc are appealing, you'll certainly have fun with the game.

If you've played any of the Karaoke Revolution games on the PS2, there's really nothing that you're missing with this iteration, other than the downloadable Xbox live content. For those out there that have never experienced Karaoke Revolution, expect to have a lot of fun with it.

This game is great for all ages and awesome for parties...it makes you feel like you're really on stage with the crowd cheering you on.... you can't miss this experience.. it's great! ------- and please if anyone could e-mail me information on how to download new songs using a 2month free trial from xbox live!!- i would highly appreciateit!! thanx!

While this game is really fun to play, when competing against the PS2 release of Karaoke Revolution(version 3) and Singstar Party, it is lacking the most fun component..."battle mode". I can only imagine that the Konami marketing gurus decided a quick double grab for Xbox owners cash would be the way to go, by releasing what is effectively the same as the PS2 version 1 game. Why not go straight to the much better version 3, given that KR1 for Xbox was released to stores on the same day as KR3 for PS/2? I'll tell you why...they want us to buy this, then when they release KR3 for xbox they'll expect us to pay again for the new features. Shame on you Konami for not giving us Xbox owners what we know is widely available on that OTHER platform!!!

I love it is everything that I expected and more. I love the fact that you can download the extra songs. The ratings system is fantastic and it is just great for parties. If you do not have this yet go out and get now man!!!!

Having this game is better than owning a several hundered dollar karaoke machine. The rating system gives you useful feedback about your own singing abilities (or lack there of). The song selection is especially excellent. It's filled with quality, memorable tracks, except for the 1 nickelback song - it's well documented that they suck. Overall this game is outstanding, no matter what singing level you're at.
