Summary

The original party game, Monopoly, becomes the next great party game for next generation game consoles: Monopoly Party! The game brings fun, social gaming to the television by evolving a classic brand and a familiar play pattern with new game rules and 3D graphics to make the classic Monopoly game faster, livelier, and more entertaining than ever. The key innovation is same-time play, which allows every player to move at once, so there's never a dull moment. [Infogrames]

Cheat Code Central

With only room for four players and no Live play, the party aspect of this game is somewhat limited.

GameZone

Something does seem to be missing in this translation, and the game seems a little sanitized.

Game Over Online

On the one hand, aside from the camera issue, it’s a solid adaptation of the board game with a unique twist. On the other hand, I still prefer to play the actual board game, and the lack of online support makes this an exclusive party.

XGP Gaming

Fortunately, even if you are not able to have some human companionship, you don't have to worry about falling prey to a lack of scruples. Even on the lowest setting, the computer will not allow unfair trades for property and stands its ground when its back is against the wall.

The sad thing is that, like the real game, this is consigned to be played once or twice and then put away to collect dust for half a year before being dug out again on a rainy day.

Not bad technically, but it just seems pointless.

Game Informer

On a console, you're left with a classic board game and no nifty little houses to roll around in your hand and lost under the couch. [Dec 2002, p.144]

Official Xbox Magazine

We don't really need video versions that make the game ridiculously more difficult. [Jan 2003, p.80]

Jake F. gave it a0:
This game is absolutely horrible, its broken and a waster of time and money, go play regular monopoly.

Uter gave it a 5:
It's got traditional monopoly which is done well. I like how it included the option for all kinds of different rules that some people disagree on. But, the downside of this game is the non traditional stuff. The party part is absolutely terrible, and the board themes are the worst.

Tucker E. gave it a 10:
A very fine game. A collector's dream.

[Anonymous] gave it a 10:
The game was easier due to the fact that you have no mess to clean up, and it is alot of fun!

Tim gave it a 10:
Great game!
