Director Zack Snyder uses his computers to create ferocious and painterly images, with as much attention to each frame as a hand-drawn panel.

300 is a feast for the senses (well, two of them anyway) and an impressive technical achievement. More than that, it's a hell of a lot of fun.

Visually stunning, thoroughly belligerent and as shallow as a pygmy’s paddling pool, this is a whole heap of style tinged with just a smidgen of substance.
  4. As you watch -- no, endure -- this flattened-out spectacle, there's really nothing worth pondering save for a single thought: What a difference a director makes.

I loved this movie. It is more than just blood and gore. I mean if some would be to get hit by a sword there will be blood.... lots of blood. A thought it was a very interesting story. Except that humpback thing was really scary. Expand
  2. This movie teaches patriotism. This is its value, but on the other hand there are a lot of bloody savoring, it is in the negative. Also, minus the fact that, in the film a lot of computer graphics and an element of fantasy that comes at the expense of historical fact the Battle of Thermopylae. Expand

A relatively good movie. It's good for the fights and such but the love between the main dude and his queen is kind fake. The emotions other than bloodlust or other similar feelings are all kind of fake. The slow downed fighting is alright. You should give it a try or a rent. Completely fantasy history, just in case you were looking for a good representation of the Battle of Thermopylae. Expand

This has to be the first movie since Hitlers propaganda movies in the 40's to depict an entire civilisation (Persian) as subhuman. Way to go guys... so the "ragheads" are demons and goblins now. Was the shock and awe not effective enough?
You know what this movie needed!
