I have probably watched A Room With A View at least 20 times since I first saw it at the cinema in 1986. It is not a film of deep meaning or complexity, but it is an exhilarating affirmation of the possibilities of life. It certainly helps I have probably watched A Room With A View at least 20 times since I first saw it at the cinema in 1986. It is not a film of deep meaning or complexity, but it is an exhilarating affirmation of the possibilities of life. It certainly helps that casting, costumes, location, cinematography, and soundtrack are all flawless. This movie firmly set Merchant-Ivory productions as the gold standard for period movies--and rightly so. Collapse
