Watch On
  1. Forgive the film its "Napoleon Dynamite" overquirk; a loving god is watching all, genuflected to on bedroom-wall posters and seen in the film's final five minutes--and if you're not a Rush fan, this is not your movie

Absurdist underdog yarn that feels positively Martian in its brand of tom-tomfoolery. Like a "Saturday Night Live" sketch gone on too long, Ari Gold's feature debut will tax unsuspecting viewers, while sending those on Gold's special wavelength into seizures of delight.

The film--despite some successful goofs and a defiantly dorky Phil Collins tribute--can't quite win for trying.
  4. Sprinkled with moderately amusing comic moments, but basically your enjoyment of this film will be proportional to your tolerance for the one-joke phenomenon of air drumming.

As a spoof of against-all-odds sports movies, "Power" has its moments. But for most of its running time, it buys into the feel-good formula, aiming to blend silliness and social issues into an inspirational tale

Adventures of Power just may teach the world that, as hard as it is to catch the wind, it's harder still to drum the air.
  7. Mostly, though, you'll appreciate Grenier, who approaches this minor project with hilarious and generous abandon.
  8. Not even the always reliable talents of McKean and Lynch can help pull this comedy out of its ironic slump.

Barely watchable, despite the presence of such pros as Michael McKean and Jane Lynch.

There was lots to laugh at but the overall meaning of the movie will touch each individual in a different way. There was a universal side that was the icing on the cake for me because this film brought me back to my childhood memories. The message that I got from the movie and the Q&A portion afterwards was, as long as you have a dream and faith all goals are possible. It also refers to what we face today with the layoffs & how big corporate giants try to bully the underdog. But as we see in real life every bully eventually has his day. Ari & Adrian completed each other in the movie & in person @ the Q&A which made me love it even more...this is a must see movie. It will have you in tears from laughter & tears for the accomplishments made in the movie & for the movie. Good luck to the cast & crew! This movie was made independently, so the more support you show the more Advertures Power will have!!!! Full Review »
