  1. Fonteyne edges closer than most to capturing the mysterious rhythms of liaisons -- pornographique, romantique, and otherwise.

    A brilliant, haunting film.
  3. An extraordinarily perfect little film: A bittersweet drama that explores sexuality and love, and their reverberations across the landscape of human emotions.
  4. This sweet, pensive gabfest is neither conventionally romantic nor pornographic.
  5. A film as romantic as its title.

A bit of a cop-out, wrapping in wistful sentimentality a failure to acknowledge a connection that is more than epidermal.

The French do this sort of movie very well indeed, surprising, tender, engaging and slightly sad. At the end I didn't know whether I wanted them to be together or separate. Don't know the actors or the director but it was masterfully and carefully crafted. Thank you Expand
