An entertaining but insubstantial romantic thriller loaded with Euro-chic trappings and no small amount of sex appeal.
You may roll your eyes a bit at the glib, transparent, indie-grunge romanticism.

That insinuating, sublime atmosphere is consistently being intruded upon by the distractingly silly plot.
B. Monkey is crawling with smart actors saying things they don't quite mean.
Overall the film is a stylish lark with no resonance, a mean-spirited one-night stand of a movie.
Unfortunately, none of the characters -- despite the film's strong cast -- ever seems worthy of the attention.
