The film is a sensational snapshot of the peak of the music video as art form, as well as the intricately layered process by which superior pop is crafted.
Lee wants to clear away the tabloid smoke and spite, and bring the focus back to Jackson's professionalism, his craftsmanship, his artistry and his pop genius; the movie defiantly insists that Jackson was and is superior to his detractors.

Spike Lee has given the world the first tribute that fully measures up to Jackson the artist. Come on get your sham on.
It's fascinating, warm and immensely watchable stuff, and fans of both Jackson and pop music in general will surely eat the film up.
Though at times a tad worshipful, the film's tone is ultimately more awed than hagiographic, its commenters too cleareyed and candid to back away from negative publicity or public disenchantment.
Michael Jackson fans will love Spike Lee's look back at the making of a classic, even if the extensive collection of clips and contemporary interviews - which could have used a firm edit - feels more suited to DVD.
This is little more than an episode of VH1's Classic Albums writ large. You'll learn everything you ever wanted to know about the making of this chart-topping behemoth - except for insights about the man in the mirror who created it.
Spike Lee's Documentary is highly watchable entertainment. It is a long way away from anything revolutionary. I am still waiting for the great Michael Jackson documentary Biopic, and I am betting I will be waiting for many years to come. Michael Jackson was a recording genius and a wizard of modern pop dance. Lee's film never strays from it's purpose, that is to prove he truly is the king of pop. This documentary to the eyes of child could inspire musical prodigies for generations to come. I have one gripe, did we really need to interview Chris Brown? His presence turns this documentary into an unnecessary time capsule.

This is a VERY crappy film because the story,characters,etc. are all awful. They even got the crappy and awful face and singer, Justin Bieber, who also **** too. I recommend you stay away from it. Watch this at your own risk, or it is your choice but I am not watching this overrated crap again. At least I give it a 3/10, because JB isn't THAT majour, nor is he a main character. If not, a terrible one. Oh, and they have the most awful singer Mariah Carey too. That is it. 2/10. Do not buy this at all costs because it really ****. Buy Mario Kart 8 instead.

This movie ****. It has Justin Bieber in it. I hate him his songs are crap! This film has bad storyline, characters, etc. But I am giving this a 1 and not 0 because at least JB is not a major character. OH AND IT EVEN HAS THE WORST SINGER EVER, MARIAH CAREY! Don't watch this movie. Watch Shrek instead.
