evanb.Mar 6, 20050Don't bother. Poorly written, forced attempts at ironic humor fail - even the characters intended as parodies come off as mildly amusing at best. Several scenes drag on for minutes for no purpose but to show off yet another bland musical cameo.

JeffBMar 27, 20051Half way through I wanted to walk out. I would have if there weren't other people waching it with me. Vaughn and the Rock manage a few laughs, but they aren't enough to hold up this 2 hour borefest. Instead of being "cool", they should have been "smart", and sent this one back to the drawing board.

JasonB.Mar 3, 20058So damn funny and entertaining.

harrym.Aug 4, 20058The best comedy of the year funny clever loved every second of it i would give it a 7 but it had uma thurman the best actor in it.

-
EricSFeb 22, 20071The move had no base. The plot was lost and there was poor acting bu actors that i wanted much more from. the movie did have its good moments but all in all it was a poor movie.

JasonBMar 10, 20092Quite possibly the worst film I've ever seen.... its excruciating in oarts.

-
SamOct 15, 20053A terrifyingly boring, pathetic, and uncool sequel to the classic Get Shorty. Sure the Rock and Chilly Palmer are cool, and Christina Millian has a good voice and knows how to do the piano, but whenit comes to lirics she just plain sucks.

-
tomm.Mar 11, 20050I booked at the screen when this endless crap ended complete waste of time and my money John Travolta should retire.
-
-
SusanM.Mar 15, 20053What a let down! This movie is just proof that a top-notch cast does not a good film make!! Even the highly-anticipated (by me anyhow) Travolta/Thurman dancing scene was underwhelming. If you are expecting anything like Pulp Fiction or Get Shorty, take my advice and stay home.

-
ERODMar 21, 20050Be aware!!! This movie is a waste of time and money. Do not see it, you will be disappointed.

DavidA.Mar 6, 20056It's all right. A good way to pass your time but it wasn't very impressive, it had some funny moments.
-
-
LawrenceP.Mar 6, 20054This movie tries too hard. The only saving grace is The Rock, who i thought was funny. Also Uma Thurman is in it, which is really never a bad thing. Get Shorty was cool this is not.

-
TonyB.Mar 7, 20054Some movies don't go anywhere - this was one of them. Agree completely with Manohla Dargis' comments. I saw it today, and am already having trouble remembering what, exactly, it was about. Too bad - with Travolta, Thurman, and the Rock, it could have been so much better. A little more effort would have helped.
-
-
rhApr 5, 20055I didn't think the movie deserved a 37..it wasn't that bad...It's a movie I won't see again though. Whose idea was it to make the Rock a gay guy? Hilarious.
-
-
AlexMMay 5, 20052This movie, unlike Get Shorty, was far as it could possibly be from the title. Everything about Be Cool was bad and it was completely forced. The only saving grace of the movie was The Rock.

-
sampsonm.Jun 11, 20058This movie was hilarious. It's a fun movie that doesn't take itself seriously. Great performances expecially by the Rock.

TonyBAug 1, 20055Be Cool is overplotted and a bit messy, but I liked it much more than most of the critics, professional and otherwise, did. It's major fault is that virtually everybody in it overshadows John Travolta, who, as usual, plays himself.

-
JohnL.Mar 11, 20051A diefinite walkout! Which we did. Even the dance scene was lousy! Absolutely terrible. The the gratitious use of violence was sickening - "not now, but later you can kill......". John Travolta is slipping badly again. What a waste of an Elmore Leonard theme.
-
-
RonB.Mar 10, 200510Obvious 10, uma thurman has the dankest body.

-
DublinMar 12, 20051Can't believe JT agreed to make this crapola? Simply horrendous. Avoid.
-
-
R.F.Mar 28, 20051The rock roxxors...vince vaughn roxxors...well danny devito...should have rocked the movie more... well to say the plain truth....danny isn't that good in the movie ....he was at his peak best in the arnold flick..Junior....yup, i mean governor arnold's flick Junior.. the flim director and castings need some reshufflings.

LJCMar 5, 20057A silly cute movie. A lot of nice touches. It was fine. Fun. Quite an ensemble, major and minor roles. John Travalta always a pleasure. He stays consistently understated the whole time. Relax and enjoy. Light fare. Nice escape.

-
-
BrutusO.May 17, 20052Painful and disjointed. One or two gags work, but so what? Given the talent on offer, it should have been ten times better.
-
-
BrianL.May 20, 20050The worst movie I've ever seen.

NataliousJun 11, 20059Wow! Why all of the criticism? I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It was funny, clever, had a good conflict. Travolta is cool in this flick. After a hard week that "sucked" I suspended my disbelief, and relaxed with this movie. Because, after wasting my money on "Boogeyman" and that Tara Reid flick, this one at least had good acting. In fact, I'm gonna go watch it again!
-
-
ChrystalJun 15, 20054I'm sorry but I have seen better. The movie started out slow but got a little bit interesting toward the end. Overall I'm gonna have to say that I wasted my time watching it. Comedies are supposed to be funny and this one just didn't do it for me.

BrianZJul 2, 20058I thought it was a good movie: Amusing, predictable, Uma was in good form. I have to wonder just what the people who rated this film so poorly were expecting ... Things must look different from that high horse.

PatC.Jun 30, 20065A Tarantino-style knock-off with Travolta in a role of non-stop Jedi mind tricks, and a disinterested performance by Thurman.
-
-
DanielR.Jul 9, 20061This is a lost, drained, directionless and dismal attempt to somehow recapture or continue the wit and style of "Get Shorty."

JohnMar 14, 20057While I can't deny that the story is asinine, the acting was terriffic and I thought it was hilarious. Not as good as Get Shorty, but who's counting?

ryanh.Mar 15, 20059This has to be the funniest movie I have ever seen besides Briging down the house.

-
BBMay 13, 20057I didn't expect much from it since the reviews I had read wasn't that good. But I loved it. Had I smile on my face much of the time. Liked the characters and thought there were many good performances. Cedric the Entertainer amused me the most.

-
RandyBJul 12, 20050Oh the JOY! By the end of this embarassing waste of film, I was left with an itch to see Beastmaster2, and we all know what a cinematic masterpiece THAT was.
-
-
zact.Jul 16, 20050This is the worst movie i've ever seen at the cinemas and wouldn't recomend this to anyone. its the worst movies i've ever seen behind Pearl Harbour.

70Be Cool is not really cool as "Get Shorty" was, but it's entertaining, a frivolous cocktail rather than a vintage wine.
-
50Considered as a sequel, Be Cool is not an insult, but it's a lazy, rhythmless, and redundant piece of moviemaking.
-
30A staggeringly flat sequel that trades filmdom for the music bizbiz and could hardly be less cool.
