  • Summary: Farley stars as Haru, an orphaned American who washes to shore in Japan and is mistaken for the Great White Ninja of legend. Raised among the finest Ninjas, Haru grows into a big, strong, slapstick disaster! An embarrassment to his clan, Haru has no hope of ever becoming a full Ninja. But when a beautiful blonde pleads for help, Haru is given one dangerously funny chance to prove himself.  (Sony)

  1. This is a movie in which the audience knows half the gags in advance, but thanks to director Dennis Dugan's timing and Farley's execution, the audience doesn't just laugh anyway, but laughs harder. Knowing in advance is part of the fun.

This sweet saga of an underachiever who makes good is surprisingly appealing and sure to broaden the portly comic's fan base.
  3. The slapstick and the sight gags come thick and fast, as they have throughout a hundred years of screen comedy, yet director Dennis Dugan and writers Mark Feldberg and Mitch Klebanoff keep everything light and bouncy.

Beverly Hills Ninja is essentially a one-joke film.
  5. But when the writers run out of ideas, they simply have Farley walk into a lamppost, or cop from old SNL skits.

Farley -- one of the few comedians who could ever be justly accused of debasing the pratfall -- has made a film that's tantamount to watching an overweight man slip on a banana peel for nearly 90 minutes.

Nearly as much fun as a case of scabies, Beverly Hills Ninja transports the viewer into a mystical realm where pratfall is king and mediocrity is its own reward.

This fat ass is really funny. The movie feels like a live-action version of Kung Fu Panda.

It's a one joke movie. It almost works too. The gags and slapstick is seen coming in advance, but it is still satisfying. Mediocre overall with a few moments of genuine laughs. Expand

This is the stupidest movie ever. You can't call something a comedy unless it's funny, notice I didn't even try to say, "This is the stupidest comedy ever." Expand
