A near-perfect comedy that could only bit a little funnier but still contains some of the funniest moments in comedy films. Great idea, cast, script and execution. Frank Oz has made some really special movies. Bowfinger is one of his best.

Bowfinger is a clever comedy with Steve Martin and Eddie Murphy. The movie is a satire of how Hollywood
works and the screenplay was written by Martin. Bowfinger is one of the funniest movies I've seen
and all the jokes are original. Bowfinger is a laugh out loud comedy.

A comedy classic that has two of the funniest performances ever from Steve Martin and Eddie
Murphy. Martin also wrote the screenplay, and the cast is great.

At some point Eddie Murphy decided that playing just one role in a movie wasn't enough for him and not once has his multiple performances ever lead to an even remotely funny film. Add into the mix Steve Martin, who's last decent film was probably Father of the Bride (1991), and you are left with a 97 minute movie that has arguably two or three funny moments throughout its entire running time. The fact that is has garnered mostly positive reviews still baffles me. Expand

  1. Smoothly directed and acted with glee... showing quick-witted comic spirit.
  2. Priceless enough to flush "Metro," "Dr. Dolittle" and "Holy Man" from memory.

Never hits a note of high hilarity.
