There's an edge to this exemplary family movie, just as there is in the story.
Charlotte's Web is worth seeing (even if you don't have the excuse of a child to bring along with you) simply because it is so enduring after more than 50 years.

This film is similar to Babe, but the brilliant adaptation of the original and the literary and intelligent story that even children will enjoy will make you less confident that Babe is clearly the better film.
Eleven years before this there was a film about an Australian pig called Babe. This film is not as critically acclaimed as Babe, but it is a better story than Babe on some fronts, a beautifully crafted adaptation of E.B. White's children's book for children and adults alike, with some intelligent and sensitive remnants of children's literature in the film.
Babe excels in many areas, but if you look at the story alone, perhaps this film is better. The animals are vividly portrayed, and the friendship between a pig and a spider is delicately and wonderfully portrayed. It is nothing short of wonderful.

I have just seen this film today and I loved it very much. They didn't change the story line one bit.Even some of the lines were from the book and the old cartoon **** was very enjoyable.A film for the hole **** favorite part was when everyone in the theater **** was lovely.There was no reason anyone should be **** animation was fabulous and the casting was great **** was fun.I really feel like a child **** brought back memories of my sweet childhood.I love Dakota Fanning, and putting her with animals was just the cherry one top of the ice cream! She was wonderful!A delight for the whole family! I loved the pig! He was so cute!The voice of the pig was wonderful! It was sad too.I cried :( (yeah I'm a big baby!)the movie showed that even when the best thing is **** still lives in your heart.

A perfectly lovely, if uninspired, movie that suffers from following on the trotters of "Babe," the one about the piglet advocate of barnyard brotherhood.
Remember the peaceful atmosphere of bedtime storytelling? The kind that allows parent and child to take satisfaction in the story, not the teller? That's how "Charlotte" draws you into its web.
Indeed, woe be to the child who doesn't mist up at this movie, since it's been made if not with zip, wit, or imagination, then at least with sweetness. But I hope no one will think the film is an adequate replacement for White's book. That would be a crime.
Whereas E.B. White's beloved novel introduced kids to the cycle of life, tenderly broaching the tricky subject of mortality, this latest movie version plays like just another piece of vegetarian agitprop.
Nowhere to be found is any dramatic surprise, heightening of the pulse or genuine pulling of heartstrings. Gary Winick's direction consists of button pushing, and the mechanics are palpable at every step.
bacon an i have a love hate relationship. i love the taste of bacon. i love the feel in my mouth. i hate how it adds fat. I love the feels in this movie, but now i want bacon.

Based on the work of EB White, a story of friendship and salvation with a cast of voices that is one of its greatest attractions, and special effects that make the characters (the animals) as real. Something to share with the children during the pandemic.
