Chillingly naturalistic.
The daunting logistics and emotional juggling act of child custody and visitation rights post-divorce are examined via spot-on acting and deft helming in docu-styled Children of Love.
Hard-hitting and biting.
A powerful drama that turns a common event -- the rending of a family -- into an intimate, personal affair.
First conceived as a documentary, this debut feature from Geoffrey Enthoven betrays its origins via its naturalistic, raw style and occasionally suffers from aimlessness and poor pacing.
In the end it appears that the problem is less divorce per se than immature and deeply selfish parents who should never have had children in the first place.
Leaves a sour aftertaste since it's obvious that the filmmaker's intrusion on these unhappy people, fictional or not, only further worsens their discomfort and their difficulty communicating.
