Critic Reviews

  1. The most heartbreaking, moving film in theaters right now.

Peled was harassed at every turn by Chinese officials, but he managed to get this shocking film made. That's just one reason China Blue is worthy of praise.
  3. Peled's film, much of it shot clandestinely with smuggled cameras, is commendable in its fair depiction of the problems faced by the textile industry.
  4. 75
A poignant, all-too-common tale of casual abuse in a workplace that is candidly labeled "better than most."
  5. A heartbreaking and meticulous documentary about life inside a blue-jeans factory in China.

Bleakly Dickensian as all this sounds, much of China Blue is charming, because its subjects are.
  7. 70
Shot at the peril of Peled and his crew, China Blue feels stage-managed at times.

Incredibly important must see film. SO greatful to have seen this--and at once so hopeless-feeling to wonder what a poor man can do.
