40Unless you grew up in an Italian-American neighborhood like the one featured in this contrived but pleasant enough comedy, you might not know that "chooch" is slang for jackass, a likeable loser who can't help but screw up.
-
Devoid of Sopranos stereotypes, the film charms with its p.c. portrayal of Italian Americans, yet the depiction of Mexicans veers toward the offensive.
-
25You won't hear a better soundtrack on a bad movie this year.
-
Nice, but that doesn't mean the film is worth anyone's time besides those of their families, friends, neighbors and the nice man from Connecticut who let them use his restaurant.
-
0Stars Carmine Famiglietti, Joseph Summa and Gino Cafarelli apparently also wrote Chooch and directed it under a trio of aliases. They shoulda applied to the witness-protection program instead.
